Sazan Balığı (Cyprinus carpio)’nın Yaş Tayininde Bütün ve Kesit Otolit Yöntemlerinin Karşılaştırılması

Bu çalışmada, Altınkaya Baraj Gölü (ABG) ve Bafra Balık Gölleri (BBG)’nde yaşayan Cyprinus carpio türünün bütün ve kesit otolitlerinin karşılaştırılarak yaş tayininde güvenirliliğinin belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Balık örnekleri (117 birey) 2017-2018 tarihlerinde temin edilmiş, her bir balığın total boyları ölçülmüş (±0.1 cm) ve ağırlıkları (±0.01 g) tartılmıştır. Bütün otolitlerin (asteriskus) distal yüzeylerinden yaşları belirlenmiş, transversal kesitler alınmıştır. Yüzde uyum, ortalama yüzde hata ve değişim katsayısı hesaplanmıştır. Populasyon genelinde total boylar 17.8-69.3 cm, ağırlıklar 67.57-5412 g arasında değişmiştir. Bütün ve kesit otolitlerde okunan yaşlar ABG’de sırasıyla 2-6, 2-7, BBG’de sırasıyla 1-8, 0-7 olarak belirlenmiştir. ABG ve BBG’de yüzde uyumun en yüksek (sırasıyla; %75.43, %71.67), ortalama yüzde hata (%3.89, %3.98) ve değişim katsayısının en düşük (5.11, 5.29) olduğu kesit otolit yöntemidir. Her iki alanda da C.carpio türünün yaş tayini için elde ettiğimiz sonuçlar, kesit otolit yönteminin yaş belirlemede bütün otolit yöntemine göre daha güvenilir olduğunu göstermiştir.

This study aims to determine the reliability of age determination by comparing whole and section otoliths of Cyprinus carpio species living in Altınkaya Dam Lake (ADL) and Bafra Fish Lakes (BFL). Fish samples (117 individuals) were obtained between 2017-2018, and the total lengths of each fish were measured (±0.1 cm) and their weights (±0.01 g) were weighed. Ages were determined from the distal surfaces of all otoliths (asteriscus) and transversal sections were taken. Percent agreement, average percent error and coefficient of variation were calculated. In the population, total lengths ranged between 17.8-69.3 cm and weights ranged between 67.57-5412 g. The ages read in whole and section otoliths were determined as 2-6, 2-7 in ADL and 1-8, 0-7 in BFL, respectively. The section otolith method has the highest percentage agreement (75.43% and 71.67%, respectively), the lowest mean percent error (%3.89, %3.98) and coefficient of variation (5.11, 5.29) for ADL and BFL. For the age determination of C.carpio species in both areas, our results indicate that the age determination based on the section otolith method provides more reliable results than the whole otolith method.
