Evaluation of histopathological and clinical correlation in cases of endometrioma

Öz

Objective : The aim of this study is the correlation of clinical findings, ultrasonographic findings and postlaparoscopic pathological findings of 627 patients who were prediagnosed as endometrioma in the recent one year period in our hospital. Material and Methods : In the recent one year period, the patients admitted to our hospital between age of 20 and 40 were analyzed according to their clinical findings, serum Ca-125 results , ultrasonographic findings and compared with postlaparoscopic pathological findings. Results : The interpretation of 627 patients who were diagnosed as endometrioma according to their clinical findings, serum Ca-125 results and ultrasonographic findings has revealed 79% accordance with postlaparoscopic pathological findings. Conclusion : The pre-surgical diagnosis of endometrioma is supported by clinical symptoms, serum Ca-125 results and ultrasonographic findings. But definitive diagnostic method is the correlation of postoperative pathological results with clinical findings.

Endometriomalı olgularda histopatolojik ve klinik korelasyonun değerlendirilmesi

Öz

Amaç : Son bir yıl içerisinde hastanemize başvuran endometrioma ön tanısı alan 627 hastada klinik bulgular, ultrasonografi sonuçları ve laparoskopik cerrahi sonrası patolojik tanı sonuçlarım korele etmek. Materyal Metod : Son bir yıl içerisinde hastanemize başvuran yaşları 20-40 arasında değişen kadın hastalarda klinik bulgular, serum Ca-125 sonuçları, ultrasonografi bulguları esas alınarak laparaskopik cerrahi sonrası patoloji sonuçlarıyla karşılaştırıldı. Bulgular : Klinik semptomlar , Serum Ca-125 sonuçları ve ultrasonografi sonuçlarıyla tanı alan 627 hastanın cerrahi sonrası patoloji sonuçları yorumlandığında cerrahi öncesi endometrioma tanısı alan hastaların %79 oranında patoloji sonuçlarıyla uyumlu tanı aldıkları ortaya konmuştur. Sonuç : Klinik semptomlar , serum Ca-125 sonuçları ve ultrasonografi bulguları endometriomayı destekler niteliktedir. Ancak kesin tanı yöntemi postoperatif patoloji sonuçlarıyla klinik özellikleri korele etmektir.
