Intrauterine fetal death in a pregnancy with impaired glucose tolerance: Case report

Öz

The clinical significance of single isolated high value on the 3-hour oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT) used to diagnose gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) remains unclear. These patients fall into a marginal category is considered as impaired glucose tolerance and single high value on the 3-hour OGTT is associated with an unfavourable outcome of perinatal. A case where intrauterine fetal death is reccurrent and a single high value was detected on a 3-hour OGTT was discussed.

Öz

Gestasyonel diabetes mellitus (GDM) tanı koymada kullanılan 3 saatlik (100gr) oral glukoz tolerans testinde (OGTT) izole tek değer yüksekliğinin klinik önemi tam olarak bilinmemektedir. Bu belirsiz kategori içindeki hastalardaki durum, bozulmuş glukoz toleransı olarak kabul edilir ve 100 gr oral glukoz tolerans testinde tek değerin yüksek olması olumsuz perinatal sonuçlarla ilişkilidir. 3 saatlik OGTT de tek değer yüksekliği saptanan ve tekrarlayan intrauterin fetal ölümü olan bir olgu tartışılmıştır.
