Effects of Bat Guano Application on Growth, Quality Traits and Nutrient Uptake of Tomato Plants

Öz

Bat manure (BM) is an organic fertilizer rich in plant nutrients that has become widespread in recent years. Although many studies have been conducted on organic fertilizers, research on BM applivcations is ongoing. In this study, it was aimed to determine the effects of BM application through the soil under greenhouse conditions on the fresh and dry weight, pot yield, some quality characteristics and total nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P) and potassium (K) concentration of tomato plant. Bat manure was applied at levels of 1% and 2% on a weight basis with the control (0%) that the study carried out according to the randomized plot trial design. Treatment of BM at 1% and 2% levels increased the fresh and dry weight, total N and K concentration and total soluble solids (TSS) of tomato plants compared to the control. Fruit titretable acidity (TA) significantly increased in the 1% BM level. The effect of BM treatment on plot yield, total P, vitamin C, fruit juice pH was not found to be significant.
