Journal of History and Future (JHF) is an internationally refereed academic journal, published quarterly (December, March, June, September). The journal aims to provide a national and international academic platform to meet the professional interests of researchers in different disciplines in the field of History. The target audience of the journal consists of academicians, researchers, and related professional and academic institutions and organizations.

Journal of History and Future (JHF) is a peer-reviewed journal that publishes essays, reviews and translations covering original research in the History field. Journal of History and Future’s scope on a large scale is History and on a narrow scale Archaeology, History of art, Local History, Oral History, History of Sociology, History of Religions, History Methodology, History of Literature, History of Science, History of Philosophy, History of Education, International relations areas.

 A.    FOCUS AND SCOPE

 HISTORY AND FUTURE  is a peer-reviewed international journal that publish original and qualified works with a scientific approach in the field of History.

 C.    AUTHOR GUIDELINES

 1.      Articles must be original (not plagiarism) and has never been published in another journal. If ever presented in the form of seminars, workshops, etc., say the name of the activity.

2.      Articles are written by a program Microsoft Word to the top, A4 size paper, page margins: top 4 cm, left 3 cm, bottom 3 cm, and right 3 cm, typed with 1,5 density spacing, font Times New Roman 11 (Title 12, footnote 9).

3.      Please submit your manuscript file as a Microsoft Word extension Document (DOC) only.

4.      Title and Abstract write in Turkish and English, content manuscript can be written in Turkish or English.

5.     The article goes into the desk editors selected by the editor. Articles can be accepted without repair, refurbishment accepted, or rejected, and the article is rejected is not returned unless requested by the author.


 Structure of Paper

 ·         Title (in Turkish or English): written in a concise and informative, maximum 15 words (single-spaced, Bold, Center, Times News Roman14, UPPERCASE) should reflect the substance of the variables described in the article body.

·         Author:Without titles, the author can be an individual or a team ( Times News Roman12).

·         Affiliation and E-mail :Name of the institution (Times News Roman12).E-mail Address, which is located under the author's name (Times News Roman12)., italic).

·         Abstract: (in Turkish and English): the length of 150-200 words, abstracts written in one  paragraph includes: scientific review article consists of a discussion of the core issues and substantially while the results of the research article consist of goals, methods, and results. The abstract is single-spaced and Italic for English.

·         Keywordterms that reflect the essence of the concept within the scope of the problem may consist of several pieces of terms

 The Body of Manuscript

 1.      Research Article consist of an A.INTRODUCTION, B.METHODS, C.RESULTS AND DISCUSSION and D.CONCLUSIONS.

2.      Review Article consist of an A. INTRODUCTION (preliminary scientific study) that shows the problems and framework of analysis, sub-subtitle that contains the B.DISCUSSION and C.

CONCLUSIONS.

3.      Reference / Bibliography: use CMS Citation rules, cultivated from a primary source, and if it comes from the most current cultivated journals (3-5 years) and just acknowledgment of the source designated in the article body. Instead, the name that is referenced in the body must exist in the bibliography. Second row to the right of the entrance 7 letter. Here are some examples of writing a bibliography of several types of sources. Recommended to use Citation Software Ex. MandeleyZoteroetc.

 D.    PEER REVIEW PROCESS

The papers that are sent to HISTORY AND FUTURE are subjected to preliminary assessment by the Editorial Board to see whether the work complies with the principles of the journal. The papers that are out of the scope of the journal or do not comply with the format of a scientific text either in terms of content or style are either rejected or demanded to be corrected prior to peer-review process. Academic objectivity and scientific quality are the most important criteria for the assessment of the articles that are submitted to be published.

The articles that comply with the publication principles of HISTORY AND FUTURE are sent to two reviewers who are known for their studies in the relevant field. HISTORY AND FUTURE  Journal employs double-blind review system in which the names of neither the reviewers nor the authors are disclosed in any of the phases of the process. Reviewer reports are saved for five years. If one of the reviewers gives positive feedback while the other gives negative feedback, the article is either sent to a third reviewer or Editorial Board examines the reviewer reports to make the final decision.

The authors submitting papers to HISTORY AND FUTURE take into account the criticisms and suggestions of the reviewers and the Editorial Board. The authors also have the right to object to the points with which they disagree. In the reviewing process, the publications of people with academic titles are only reviewed by academics of either an equal or a higher degree.

Assessment process of HISTORY AND FUTURE may sometimes take long periods of time due to undesired reasons. Normally, preliminary assessment by the editor takes a week while reviewer’s assessment period takes 8 weeks. However, reviewer assessment process may get longer when reviewers do not respond on time or in cases of appointing a new reviewer and so on.

The author/authors submitting papers to HISTORY AND FUTURE is/are considered to have accepted the aforementioned reviewing conditions and process of the journal.


E.     PUBLICATION FREQUENCY

HISTORY AND FUTURE are published quarterly. Regular issues come out in December, March, June, and September. Additionally, a special issue is published annually, an announcement for which shall be made on this website and relevant mailing groups.

The names and e-mail addresses entered in this journal site will be used exclusively for this journal and will not be made available for any other purpose or any other party.

The copyright of the article published in our journal belongs to the article's author or authors. The author is free to use his published article as he wishes.

Publication Principles

The Journal of History and Future aims to contribute to the accumulation of knowledge in the social sciences by publishing internationally recognized scientific studies.
The Journal of History and Future is an international refereed journal published quarterly (December, March, June and September).
The publication language of the journal is Turkish or English.
The articles to be published in the journal should be original and academic studies prepared primarily by using appropriate research methods in their field. The works submitted to the journal should not be published or sent for publication elsewhere. Shipments to our journal are screened by Turnitin plagiarism detection program. Articles which was determined by plagiarism will be rejected without being included in the referee process.
Manuscripts are first examined in terms of shape. The manuscripts which are not observed in the publication and writing principles shall be returned to the author in order to make necessary corrections without being subject to content review.
Unpublished manuscripts are stored in the journal archive.
The manuscripts sent to be published to the journal will be sent to the referees who are experts in the subject determined by the editorial board after the preliminary examination. It is decided to publish the manuscript with at least two positive reports. In case two referees give negative opinions, the manuscript will not be published. When positive and negative referee reports are available for the same article, the manuscript will be rejected by the editor or a decision of acceptance or rejection will be given through one more referee's supporting report.
The names of the number referees are included in the relevant issue of the journal.
No copyright fee is paid to the author for the published articles.

The journal aims to provide a national and international academic platform to meet the professional interests of researchers in different disciplines in the field of History. The target audience of the journal consists of academicians, researchers, and related professional and academic institutions and organizations.
The Journal of History and Future (JHF) is a peer-reviewed journal that publishes essays, reviews and translations covering original research in the social sciences. At the same time, various articles such as history, literature, sociology, ethnicity, book, criticism and evaluation are also included. JHF applies at least two peer-review processes. The referees and editors in the submitted articles should have the corrections made within 20 days and the final version of the manuscript should be uploaded to the journal system. The content and format of the manuscripts submitted to the journal may be rejected by the editorial board unless deemed appropriate.
The scientific and legal responsibility of the published work belongs to the author(s).
All publication rights of articles accepted for publication belong to Journal of History and Future.
The decision of the Chief Editor will not be taken into consideration for the matters not mentioned here.

Ethical Principles

Authors

It is authors' responsibility to ensure that the submitted article is of a quality that contributes to the academic field.
The works must be original and based on research. It should be made sure that other individuals shown as co-authors, have contributed to the research. It is contrary to the scientific ethics to add some, who are not academic contributors to the article, as co-authors or to put in order co-authors with non-academic criteria such as title, age, and gender regardless of the order of contribution
Although the plagiarism scan will be carried out by AID, authors are responsible for academic consequences of plagiarism.
The articles should not be sent to different journals at the same time. Also, the articles must be unsent to the other journals before.
It is assumed that authors who submit articles to the journal read and accept the publishing and writing principles of the journal and the writers are deemed to have committed themselves to these principles.
Citations and bibliography should be complete and realistic.


Referees

Referees should act with the awareness that they are the most basic determinant of the academic quality of the article to be published in the journal and should evaluate it with a view increasing the academic quality.
Referees should only accept the articles that they have the expertise necessary to make an appropriate appraisal. Also, they should only accept the articles that they can adhere to the double-blind peer-review secrecy and they should keep the details of the article in every way confidential.
Any information about the article examined in the review process should not be shared with anyone in any way.
Referees should only evaluate the correctness of the content of the articles and the appropriateness of the academic criteria. The opinions put forth in the article by authors may differ from those of the referees. The differences should not affect the evaluation.
Referee reports should be objective and moderate. Defamatory, derogatory and accusatory statements must be avoided.
Referees should avoid superficial and ambiguous expressions in evaluation reports. For the evaluations that resulted negative, the missing points and imperfections of the article must be shown clearly and concretely.
Referees must evaluate the articles within the time-frame granted to them. If they will not evaluate the article, they must notify the journal within a reasonable time.


Editorial Board

Editors should accept the articles that may contribute to the relevant areas expressed in the scope of the Journal to the evaluation process.
Editors should not be in any conflict of interest with the accepted or rejected articles nor take advantage from them.
Editors have all the responsibility and authority to accept or reject a submission.
It is the responsibility of editors to keep the names of referees and authors confidential.
Editors should take the necessary effort to ensure that the articles submitted for publication will be scanned to prevent plagiarism that is an academic dishonesty.
It is the responsibility of editors to complete the review, refereeing, editing and publishing processes of the submitted articles in a timely and healthy manner.
Editors should give priority to academic concerns and criteria when accepting the articles to the journal.
Editors should not list the names of those who do not contribute the journal, as a member of editorial board or assistant editor.
