Ajoy Kumer has been working as a prominent scholar in various fields, computational chemistry & biology, computer-aided drug design, bioinformatics, computational materials science, Nanomaterial, organic & medicinal chemistry, besides Ionic Liquids. He has an impressive academic background, and highly motivated with detail- oriented on chemistry, earned B.Sc(Hon’s) (held 2014) and an M.S (held 2016) from University of Chittagong. Subsequently, obtained an MPhil (held 2019) in Organic Chemistry from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology. Now, he is an Assistant Professor at International University of Business Agriculture and Technology (1st private University in Bangladesh) from August, 2023 to continue. Before, he was actively involved in dual roles of educator and researcher in a reputed University about 07 years in European University of Bangladesh, Bangladesh occupying the Lecturer, Senior Lecturer and Assistant Professor, even Assistant Executive at SGS Bangladesh Ltd., a prominent multinational company. Last, he was selected as Editor (Section) Turkish Computational and Theoretical Chemistry, DergiPark, Turkey, Scopus Indexed.
In recognition of his expertise, he was rewarded an Honorary Assistant Professor in Novel Global Community Education Foundation (NGCEF), Australia; and Visiting Scientist, Centre for Nanotechnology, Coppin State University, USA. Next, he was recompensed the Distinguished Adjunct Faculty at Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences in Saveetha Medical College and Hospital, Chennai, India. He was honored as mentor for the Bangladesh National Team for 55th International Chemistry Olympiad (IChO), Switzerland (2023), and continue for 56th IChO, Saudi Arab, 2024.
Throughout this journey, he published more 137 peer-reviewed research articles ((h-index=22, i10- index=50, cited about 1500 Google citation), presented 26 abstracts in national and international platform, and secured 06 patents.
He is a sought-after speaker at scientific conferences and conducted five national and international workshops on Computer-Aided Drug Design (CADD). As a Consulting Scientist, he has developed and modified the Agro-based drug formulations for the pharmaceutical industry. Additionally, he is the General Secretary (founder) of Scientific Foundation for Cancer Research, Bangladesh. In his leisure, he enjoys train travel, reading, fishing, and visiting agricultural crops.
