All articles submitted to the Atatürk Research Center Journal for publication must be original and must not have been published elsewhere. Furthermore, they must not be under review by another journal. Each article submitted through the Publication Tracking System (YAY-SİS) undergoes a preliminary review by the Editor, Associate Editor, or Publication Tracking Officer. Articles that pass the preliminary review are subjected to a double-blind peer review process by at least two reviewers designated by the Journal Editorial Board, provided the Editorial Board deems them worthy of review.
Reviewers must issue a decision of “accept,” “reject,” or “revision” for the relevant article within one month. Authors must complete the necessary revisions based on the “revision” reports sent to them through the system within one month and upload the revised version of the article to the system.
Articles revised by the authors are resubmitted to the relevant reviewer, who is given up to 15 days to review them.
For an article to be published, it must receive “approval” from two reviewers. If one reviewer’s report is positive and the other’s is negative, the article is sent to a third reviewer. The decision on whether a manuscript will be published based on the reviewers’ reports is made by the Journal Editorial Board. Manuscripts for which the Journal Editorial Board has decided whether to publish or not are submitted to the Board of Directors of the Atatürk Cultural, Language, and History Higher Council for approval; manuscripts approved for publication by the Board of Directors are published in an appropriate number, taking into account their submission dates. Rejected manuscripts are returned to the author with an explanation of the reasons for rejection.
