Türkiye'deki Sosyal Bilgiler Eğitimi Araştırmalarında Bibliyometrik Eğilimler (2005-2024)

Abstract

Bu araştırmanın amacı, Türkiye kaynaklı ve WoS dizininde indekslenen dergilerde yayımlanan sosyal bilgiler eğitimi alanındaki çalışmaların, betimsel ve bibliyometrik analizlerle ortaya konulmasıdır. Atıf analizi, anahtar kelime analizi ve ortak yazar analizi gibi bibliyometrik yöntemlerin kullanıldığı çalışmada veri kaynağı olarak WoS veri tabanı kullanılmıştır. WOS veri tabanından “social studies” ve “sosyal bilgiler” anahtar kelimeleri ile aranarak bulunan 441 makale araştırma kapsamında incelenmiştir. Verilerin analizinde VOSviewer programı kullanılmıştır. Sonuçlara göre, 2005'ten 2024'e kadar olan yayın eğilimleri, araştırma faaliyetlerinde genel bir artış gözlenmekte olup, 2013 ve 2021 yıllarında belirgin zirveler kaydedilmiştir. En popüler dergiler, Türkiye kaynaklı olan “Eğitim ve Bilim”, “Eurasian Journal of Educational Research” ve “Educational Sciences: Theory & Practice” dergileridir. Sosyal bilgiler eğitimi alanında en üretken yazarların makale ve atıf sayıları incelendiğinde, öğretim programları, öğretmen yetiştirme, oyun temelli eğitim, karakter eğitimi, küresel vatandaşlık, beceri, kavram eğitimi gibi çalışma alanlarında çalışan yazarların üretkenlik açısından öne çıktığı görülmektedir. Kurumlar bazında üretkenlik açısından Anadolu Üniversitesi, Gazi Üniversitesi ve Marmara Üniversitesi hem atıf hem de makale sayısı sıralamaları açısından önde yer almaktadır. Anahtar kelime analizi sonucunda en fazla kullanılan anahtar kelimelerin sosyal bilgiler eğitimi, öğretmen, nitel araştırma, içerik analizi, başarı, tutum, vatandaşlık, motivasyon, yapılandırmacılık ve öğretmen eğitimi olduğu gözlenmektedir.

Bibliometric Trends in Social Studies Education Research in Türkiye (2005-2024)

Abstract

The aim of this research is to reveal the studies in the field of social studies education published in journals indexed in the WOS index and originating from Turkey, through descriptive and bibliometric analyses. The study used bibliometric methods such as citation analysis, keyword analysis and co-author analysis, and used the WoS database as the data source. 441 articles found by searching the keywords “social studies” from the WoS database were examined within the scope of the research. The VOSviewer program was used in the analysis of the data. According to the results, the publication trends from 2005 to 2024 show a general increase in research activities, with significant peaks recorded in 2013 and 2021. The most popular journals are “Education and Science”, “Eurasian Journal of Educational Research” and “Educational Sciences: Theory & Practice” originating from Turkey. In terms of productivity on an institutional basis, Anadolu University, Gazi University, and Marmara University are at the forefront in terms of both citation and article numbers. As a result of the keyword analysis, it is observed that the most used keywords are social studies education, teacher, qualitative research, content analysis, success, attitude, citizenship, motivation, constructivism, and teacher education.
