Türkiye’de Göçmen Algıları: Eğitim ve Gelir Düzeyinin Etkisi Üzerine Boylamsal Bir Analiz

Abstract

Bu çalışma, Türkiye’de göçmenlere yönelik algıları eğitim ve gelir düzeyleri bağlamında boylamsal bir perspektiften analiz etmektedir. World Values Survey (WVS) verilerinden yararlanılarak gerçekleştirilen araştırmada, göçmenlerin istihdama katkısı, kültürel entegrasyon, güvenlik kaygıları ve toplumsal uyum gibi değişkenler üzerinden göçmen algıları incelenmiştir. Eğitim ve gelir düzeylerinin bu algılar üzerindeki etkisi ki-kare testleri ve Bonferroni düzeltmeleri ile analiz edilmiştir. Bulgular, düşük eğitim seviyesine sahip bireylerin göçmenlerle doğrudan temasları nedeniyle daha olumlu tutumlar geliştirdiğini, yüksek eğitim seviyesine sahip bireylerin ise göçmenlerin ekonomik katkılarını daha pragmatik bir çerçevede değerlendirdiğini göstermektedir. Gelir düzeyi bağlamında, düşük gelir gruplarındaki bireylerin göçmenleri ekonomik bir tehdit olarak algılama eğilimi daha yüksekken, yüksek gelir gruplarında daha kapsayıcı ve hoşgörülü tutumlar gözlemlenmiştir. Bununla birlikte, güvenlik ve toplumsal çatışma kaygıları tüm gruplarda yaygın bir eğilim göstermektedir. Çalışma, göçmenlere yönelik politikaların sosyo-ekonomik dinamikleri dikkate alarak şekillendirilmesi gerektiğini vurgulamakta ve eğitim programları, ekonomik müdahaleler ve sosyal dayanışmayı teşvik eden politikaların önemini ortaya koymaktadır. Göçmen algılarına ilişkin sosyo-ekonomik bir perspektif sunan bu araştırma, göç çalışmaları literatürüne katkı sağlamayı ve politika yapıcılara yol göstermeyi amaçlamaktadır.

Perceptions of Migrants in Türkiye: A Longitudinal Analysis of the Impact of Education and Income Levels

Abstract

This study provides a longitudinal analysis of perceptions toward immigrants in Türkiye, focusing on the impact of education and income levels. Utilizing data from the World Values Survey (WVS), the research examines socio-economic and cultural attitudes towards immigration by assessing variables such as employment, cultural integration, security concerns, and social cohesion. The study employs chi-square tests and Bonferroni adjustments to analyze the extent to which education and income shape perceptions of immigrants. Findings indicate that individuals with lower education levels tend to exhibit more positive attitudes due to direct interactions with immigrants, whereas those with higher education levels assess immigration from a pragmatic economic standpoint. In terms of income, lower-income individuals perceive greater economic threats from immigrants, while higher-income groups demonstrate more inclusive perspectives. However, concerns regarding security and social conflict persist across all socio-economic groups. The study underscores the need for immigration policies to integrate socio-economic dynamics and recommends educational campaigns, economic interventions, and social solidarity programs to foster a more cohesive society. By offering a socio-economic perspective on immigrant perceptions, this research contributes to contemporary migration studies and informs policy-making processes.
