Orhan Kemal is one of the prominent figures of the socialist realistic novel in Turkish literature. It can be said that the artist, who entered the literary world by publishing poetry, came to the fore with his novelism and storytelling. Apart from these genres, there are also plays and script studies. Orhan Kemal's first story book, Fight For Breadcontains basic conflicts specific to socialism and contains critical elements. Inthefirstpart of ourstudy, thethemes in socialistrealism, theirrepresentatives in Turkishliteratureandthestorytelling of Orhan Kemal arebrieflymentioned.In the second part, after giving information about the Fight For Bread the themes of the twenty four stories in this work are discussed.The aim of our study is to try to determine the place and importance of these stories in the history of literature from a socialist realist perspective.
