Author Guide

This guide has been prepared in order to explain the process and the path they will follow to the authors who submit articles to the Akra Journal of Culture, Arts and Literature.

1. Each author uploads the manuscript he wishes to be published in the Akra Journal of Culture, Arts and Literature in the "Word" format by signing in to the "article tracking system" at https://dergipark.org.tr/tr/pub/akrajournal.

2. The article uploaded to the system is subject to editorial evaluation as soon as possible. This assessment covers three stages:

a. Assessment of the article as a form: At this stage, check whether the spelling guide, spelling principles and citation styles of Akra Journal of Culture, Art and Literature are followed.

b. Checking the "abstract" of the article written in Turkish, English (or any other language) and whether the keywords are appropriate with the article.

c. Making the similarity analysis of the article with the program of İntihal.net.

3. If there is any deficiency in these three procedures, the article is rejected. The rejection process here indicates that the deficiencies must be corrected. If the article is not published, the author will be notified with the title "your article has been rejected".

4. The article passing the pre-evaluation is sent to two referees who will evaluate the article after the elements that will show the identity of the author and the article are removed. At this stage, it is not possible to provide any information flow between the referee and the author, as only the article purified from the author information is sent to the referees.

5. Book promotion articles sent to the journal are not sent to any referees, they are only subject to editorial evaluation. At the end of the process, an electronic notification is made regarding whether the article is in the order of publication or will not be published.

6. Referees have 15 (fifteen) days to evaluate the article sent to them and to present their proposals, if any.

7. Any of the referees can submit a positive report, negative report or correction report about the article. When a negative report is submitted, the article will be sent to the third and final referee within 48 hours at the latest. Positive or negative referee reports will be sent to the author through the system.

8. If the referee requests a correction, this situation is notified to the author electronically and no further notification is made. After the author makes the corrections requested by the referee, he uploads his article back to the system. Reloading is not done in the form of sending a new article. Clicking the orange color send file link on the right of the dialog box requesting a correction will open the place where the author will edit and upload the article. If the referee has selected the "I want to see" option for the re-uploaded article, the article is sent to the referee and the referee can review it again and report a positive and negative report.

9. The second referee assigned to the article through the system may also request a positive report, negative report or correction report. In case the second referee requests a correction, the corrections requested by the referee are not made on a new document, but on a single file containing the corrections requested by the first referee.

10. The corrections requested by the editor or referees may include "abstract" and "abstract" parts.

11. Articles that receive positive reports or whose corrections are deemed appropriate are placed in the order of publication. The articles that are placed in the order of publication in the journal and inserted in the string for publication are arranged in the order of uploading to the system or alphabetically according to the surname of the author. However, the article is classified into bibliography, new discoveries and book reviews.

12. Akra Journal of Culture, Arts and Literature is published three times a year, and these dates are January, May and September. Paper calls, deadline for submission of articles, etc. such announcements are published on the magazine's website and sent to members by e-mail.

13. Regardless of the nature of the article, each author must submit ORCID information to the journal secretariat. The article of the author without the ORCID or researcherid information associated with it is not published in the journal.

14. Articles whose process is completed and are in the queue of publication are published in printed journals and electronically free of charge.

15. Akra Journal of Culture, Arts and Literature is a journal published both in print and electronic media. However, the entire printing process explained above is carried out electronically. For this reason, it is important that the validity of the e-mail addresses that the authors upload to the system are correct. However, generally addresses with an "edu.tr" extension have difficulties in receiving the incoming message or the mails fall into the "spam" (spam) box. The responsibility of this situation belongs to the author.
