Abstract
This study, it’s aimed to determine how the ethical values determined by the local chain hotels are handled from an organizational or personal perspective. For this purpose, the information on the websites of local chain hotels was examined. The research was designed with a qualitative approach and the "Content Analysis" method was applied in the analysis of the data. Ethical codes were determined with the literature review. The determined ethical codes were handled under two main themes, organizational relations and personal skills, and each of them was divided into five sub-themes. There’re seeking excellence, helping others, justice, transparency, empathy under the main theme of organizational relations and respect, honesty, compassion, keeping promises, professional competence under the main theme of personal skills. Result of the content analysis, ethical codes weren’t found in 6 of 41 businesses. In results; ethical values within the scope of organizational relations are foremost than personal ethical values. The importance given to professional competence and the behavior seeking excellence in service was the foremost ethical values for businesses. Keeping promises, which is personality trait, was the least important ethical value for businesses. Professional competence, which is important for chain hotels, coincides with the issues in the 6th and 9th articles of the Global Ethical Principles Declaration.
