Abstract
In this research, it is aimed to examine the effect of various dimensions and health dimension on the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in the Life Index in Provinces prepared by TUIK. As the number of variables is high, one indicator from each basic dimension group and all indicators from health dimension were included in the scope of the study and determined as independent variables of the study. The dependent variable of the study is GDP per capita. As a result of the backward regression analysis initiated with 15 independent variables, the most significant model consisted of 8 independent variables. According to this; except for one variable related to life index, all independent variables had a positive effect on GDP, but the statistically significant relationship among these variables was the employment rate, the percentages of households in middle and higher income groups, the number of applications per physician, the percentage of higher education graduates, the percentages of people feeling safe when walking alone at night and the rate of access to sewage and pipe system were found to be variable. As a result of the regression analysis conducted to examine the effect of health dimension on GDP, it was found that health variables had a significant effect on GDP; infant mortality rate, public health services satisfaction rate and number of applications per physician were negative; it was found that the satisfaction rate of health status had a positive effect.
