1. Content Requirements

Articles written in Turkish must include both Turkish and English titles, abstracts, and keywords.
Articles written in English are not required to provide Turkish content.
Abstracts should not exceed 500 words, and must be written as a single paragraph.
5 to 6 keywords should be provided. The first keyword must reflect the relevant academic discipline, followed by terms ordered from general to specific.
Non-Turkish proper names (e.g., religious denominations, sects, figures, surahs), book titles, and terms must be spelled according to the Türkiye Diyanet Vakfı İslâm Ansiklopedisi for Turkish content and the Encyclopaedia of Islam for English content.
References must be provided as footnotes.
A full bibliography must be included, listing all sources cited in the article.
If available, the DOI links of sources must be added at the end of each bibliography entry.
Authors are encouraged to use the Crossref Metadata Search tool to identify DOIs in bulk.
Articles with multiple authors must include a statement specifying each author's contribution.
2. Formatting and Style
Despite having a large editorial team, the journal operates on a voluntary basis and does not provide professional services such as editing or typesetting. Authors are responsible for ensuring that their submissions comply with the formatting requirements.
You may apply the following settings manually or use the templates we have prepared for LibreOffice Writer and Microsoft Word.

2.1. Page Layout

Paper Size: A4 Portrait
Margins: Top 5 cm | Bottom 5 cm | Left 4.5 cm | Right 4.5 cm
Font: Palatino Linotype
Main Text Size: 11 pt
Abstract Text Size: 10 pt
Footnotes: 9 pt
Line Spacing (Main Text): Before 0.3 nk – After 0 nk – Fixed 14 nk
Line Spacing (Footnotes): Before 0.3 nk – After 0 nk – Fixed 10 nk
2.2. Abstract and Keywords
Font: Palatino Linotype, 10 pt
Alignment: Justified
No paragraph indentation
Spacing: Single line, no extra space before/after
Titles: "Keywords:" and "Anahtar Kelimeler:" should be bold and followed by a colon
Keywords must directly follow the abstract, with no extra spacing in between
2.3. Headings
All headings: Palatino Linotype, 11 pt, bold
Use a hierarchical numbering system (e.g. 1., 1.1., 1.1.1.)
No numbering for Introduction, Conclusion, and Bibliography sections
Paragraph spacing: 6 nk before, 0 nk after
Indent headings (except for Abstract and Öz) by 1 cm
2.4. Body Text
Font: Palatino Linotype, 11 pt
Alignment: Justified
Paragraph indentation: 1 cm for the first line
Line spacing: Before 0.3 nk – After 0 nk – Fixed 14 nk
Arabic text within the main body: Traditional Arabic, 12 pt
Arabic text in footnotes: Traditional Arabic, 10 pt
2.5. Quotations
Quotations fewer than 40 words should be placed in quotation marks within the text.
Quotations longer than 40 words should:
Be in 10 pt font
Be indented: 1 cm from the left, 0.5 cm from the right
Use single line spacing
2.6. Footnotes and References
Follow ISNAD Citation System, 2nd Edition
Footnotes:
Font: Palatino Linotype, 10 pt
Alignment: Justified
Line spacing: Before 0.3 nk – After 0 nk – Fixed 10 nk
Reference numbers must be placed after punctuation (e.g., after a period).
❌ Incorrect: “… passed away in 534/1139”¹¹.
✅ Correct: “… passed away in 534/1139.”¹¹
Bibliography:

Paragraph spacing: 0 before, 3 nk (0.10 cm) after

2.7. Tables and Figures
Tables must be set to auto-fit to page.
Number and title tables/figures as follows: Table 1: / Figure 1:
Titles: Palatino Linotype, 10 pt, not bold or italic, Title Case
Table content: 9 pt, single line, no spacing before or after
First row of tables must be bold
