Author Guidelines

Manuscripts submitted to the journal are first evaluated by the editor, and then assigned to at least two anonymous reviewers, ensuring a double-blind peer review process. Based on the evaluations of the reviewers, the final decision is made by the responsible editor. The peer review process is expected to be completed within one month (four weeks), and the final decision is to be announced to the authors no later than two months (eight weeks) after submission.

Format-Free Submission

Our journal adopts a "format-free submission" policy. Authors may submit their full-text manuscripts in Turkish or English in any format or layout. However, in-text and end-of-text references must follow APA 7 style. After the manuscript has been accepted for publication, authors will be asked to format the article in accordance with the journal’s writing guidelines. To avoid any delays during the review process, authors are advised to carefully review all instructions regarding the writing rules.
When submitting a manuscript, please provide the following files in the specified formats:

  1. Full-text manuscript including author information (Author names, affiliations, email addresses, and ORCID IDs must be included.)
  2. Anonymous manuscript with all author information removed (All personal identifying details must be removed from the manuscript. Metadata in the text file properties such as file names, document creator tags etc. must also be removed.)
  3. Copyright statement form (Must be prepared using the template provided by the journal and signed by all authors.)
  4. Similarity report in PDF format (Obtained via plagiarism detection software such as Turnitin or iThenticate.)
  5. Ethics committee approval (for studies requiring the approval)

If there are any supplementary files to be submitted along with the full-text manuscripts, they should be included in the "Appendices" section in the template.

Writing and Formatting

This journal accepts full-text articles in both Turkish and English. An English abstract is required for articles written in Turkish, and an extended Turkish summary is required for articles written in English. Although there are no strict formatting rules at the submission stage, manuscripts should be structured as follows: Title, Abstract, Keywords (English Title, Abstract, and Keywords for Turkish articles), Main Text (Introduction, Literature Review, Methods, Findings, Discussion/Conclusion), Additional Information, Ethical Statement References Appendices (if necessary). In addition to these, any other elements necessary for the manuscript’s evaluation may be included. In the “Methods” and “Ethical Statement” sections, all required details from the ethics committee approval, including the name of the committee, approval date, and approval number, must be provided.

Word Limit

A typical manuscript submitted to this journal should not exceed 10,000 words, including references, footnotes, and appendices. Manuscripts exceeding this word limit must be submitted with a justification statement. For Turkish manuscripts, both the Turkish and English abstracts should be between 150 and 200 words. For English manuscripts, the extended Turkish summary should be between 750 and 1,000 words. Both Turkish and English keywords must include 5 keywords.

Author Information

All authors must provide their full names, institutional affiliations, email addresses, and ORCID IDs (The Open Researcher and Contributor ID – orcid.org). One author must be designated as the corresponding author. If any author changes their affiliation or contact details during the review process, the updated information must be provided before publication. No changes to affiliation or contact details can be made after the article is published.

Figures

Each figure must have a caption, and captions should be numbered sequentially starting with Figure 1. Figures used in the manuscript must be of high resolution: line drawings should be in 1200 dpi, grayscale figures in 600 dpi, and color figures in 300 dpi. Accepted file formats include figures created in Microsoft Word (doc or docx), as well as EPS, PS, JPEG, and TIFF formats. All figures must be cited within the manuscript.

Tables

Each table must have a title, and tables should be numbered sequentially starting with Table 1. Tables must be submitted in an editable format. All tables must also be cited within the text.

Equations

Equations must be submitted in an editable format. Please do not use images or any non-editable formats for equations.

Abbreviations

Abbreviations used in the text should be defined at their first mention and then used consistently throughout the manuscript. Abbreviations should not be used in the Turkish and English abstracts.

References

References must be prepared in accordance with the APA 7 style. Ensure that all sources listed in the references are cited in the text, and all in-text citations appear in the reference list. For journal articles, include DOIs or web links when available.

Additional Information

The “Additional Information” section at the end of the manuscript should include: wach author’s contribution to the manuscript and percentage of contribution, any funding or support received for the reported research, and acknowledgments and conflict of interest statements, if any. Also, any other relevant information (e.g., if the article is derived from a thesis, was presented at a scientific event, or was prepared within the scope of a project) should be presented in this section.

Ethical Statement

In this section, authors must declare that all ethical rules stated in the “Directive on Research and Publication Ethics of the Council of Higher Education (YÖK)” were followed, and none of the actions listed under the directive’s “Violations of Research and Publication Ethics” were committed. Additionally, ethics committee approval information (name of the committee, approval date, and approval number) to be provided in the article must also be provided in this section.

Copyright Statement

The Copyright Statement Form, provided by the journal as a template, must be submitted filled in with the signatures of all the authors.

Manuscript Format
Please use the "Manuscript Template" provided by the journal when formatting your submission. Pay attention to the following points when using the template:

  • The body text should be written in Arial, 10-point font size.
  • Headings and subheadings should not be numbered. Only the first letter of each word in the headings should be capitalized, and all headings should be left-aligned. Use no more than three levels of headings:
  • Level 1 headings: Bold, 12-point
  • Level 2 headings: Bold and italic, 11-point
  • Level 3 headings: Italic, 10-point
  • Use 12 pt before and 6 pt spacing after each heading.
  • Use italics for emphasis in the text.
  • No indentation should be used for paragraph margins, and text alignment should be justified.
  • Line spacing should be single (1.0), with 6 pt spacing after each paragraph.
  • Do not leave blank lines throughout the manuscript.
  • Margins should be set to 2.5 cm on all sides (top, bottom, left, right).
  • Tables should have single spacing, and text size should be 8–10 points.
  • Tables exceeding one page may be included in the “Appendices” section, provided they are cited in the main text.
  • Table width must match the page width.

Key Responsibilities and Considerations for Authors

  1. All submitted articles must include a "Methods" section that clearly explains the research design or model, population/sample or participants (if applicable), data collection tools and methods, and validity and reliability procedures. Review or analytical articles must also explain how the literature was selected and how the structure of the article was developed. Meta-analyses or synthesis studies must report how the works were selected and analyzed. Any ethics or copyright permissions must be mentioned in the Methods section.
  2. Except for invited or special issue articles, an author may publish only one article per year in this journal. Even if a second article is submitted and accepted, it will be queued for publication in the following year.
  3. Our journal does not accept reviewer suggestions from authors. In accordance with publication ethics, a double-blind peer-review process is strictly followed.
  4. If an author withdraws a manuscript after it has completed the review process and is prepared for publication, no new submissions from the same author will be accepted for the following year.
  5. Submissions must align with the scope of the journal. Manuscripts outside the scope will be rejected during editorial review.
  6. After the peer-review process, authors will be requested to submit a plagiarism/similarity report. Articles of the authors failing to provide the similarity report will not be published. The maximum similarity rate (excluding references) is set to 20%, considering the different types of articles. Articles exceeding this limit will be rejected, even if they have completed the review process.
  7. If a manuscript has been presented at a conference, derived from a thesis, or previously published as an extended abstract, this must be disclosed both during submission and on the cover page. The journal cannot be held not responsible for any omissions in this regard. Publishing full-text proceedings previously published elsewhere is not considered appropriate for this journal. Even if such submissions complete the review process, they will be rejected due to high similarity.
  8. The journal does not accept articles for specific issues. No guarantees are given regarding issue, reviewer, timeline, or publication. Publication depends entirely on the completion of the review process, editorial and board approval, and availability in upcoming issues. The journal has a limit on the number of articles per issue. Even accepted articles are queued based on review and submission dates.
  9. Articles submitted for publication must be between 3,500 and 10,000 words, including abstracts, tables/figures, and references, and must comply with journal formatting rules.
  10. Articles that receive reviewer approval are published based on the completion date of peer reviews and the issue capacity, with priority also given to submission date if reviews are completed on the same day. The submission and acceptance dates will be noted in the published article. The acceptance date refers to the date the article is officially approved by the editorial board for that issue.
  11. All scientific and legal responsibility for published articles lies with the author(s).
  12. For translated articles, the original text and publication permission from the author must be submitted. Translations are also subject to peer review, just like original manuscripts.
  13. The final decision on publication of peer-reviewed articles is made by the Editors and/or the Editorial Board.
