Ethical Principles and Publication Policy

All articles submitted to the journal must be original, unpublished in another journal, and not under evaluation. A plagiarism report is requested for submitted articles. Articles with more than 20% similarity are rejected. Each article is subject to a double-blind evaluation by the relevant field editor and at least two referees. Plagiarism, duplication, false authorship/denied authorship, article slicing, copyright violation, and concealment of conflict of interest are considered unethical behaviors. No article that does not comply with ethical standards will be published. Articles that are found to have ethical violations after being accepted and published will be removed from publication. JAUVEP adopts the ethical standards determined by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). The ethical standards of COPE (https://publicationethics.org/) are taken as basis in matters of publication and scientific ethics.

Research Ethics

The journal adopts the principles of international research ethics defined below.
• Integrity, quality, and transparency should be ensured in the design of the research, the review of the design and the conduct of the research.
• The research team and participants should be fully informed about the purpose, methods and possible uses of the research; the requirements of participation in the research and the risks, if any.
• Confidentiality of the information provided by the research participants and the confidentiality of the respondents should be ensured. The research should be designed to protect the autonomy and dignity of the participants.
• Research participants should participate in the research voluntarily and should not be under any coercion.
• Harm to the participants should be avoided. The research should be planned in a way that does not put the participants at risk.
• Research independence should be clear and explicit; if there is a conflict of interest, it should be stated.

• In experimental studies, written informed consent should be obtained from the participants who decide to participate in the research. The consent of the legal guardian of children and those under guardianship or those with confirmed mental illness should be obtained.
• If the study is to be conducted in any institution or organization, approval for the study should be obtained from this institution or organization.

Authors' Responsibilities
The authors are responsible for ensuring that the articles comply with scientific and ethical principles. The author must provide assurance that the article is original, has not been previously published elsewhere or in another language, and is not under consideration for publication. Applicable copyright laws and agreements must be observed. Copyrighted materials (e.g. tables, figures, or large quotations) must be used with the necessary permissions and acknowledgements. The work of other authors, contributors, or sources used must be used appropriately and cited in the references.
All authors must have made direct academic and scientific contributions to the submitted article. The order of authors must be a joint decision. All authors must indicate their authorship order in a signed Copyright Agreement Form. All individuals who do not meet the criteria for authorship but contributed to the work must be listed in the "acknowledgements/information" section. All authors must declare any financial relationships, conflicts of interest, or competing interests that could potentially influence the results of the research or the scientific evaluation. If an author discovers any obvious error or inaccuracy in his or her published manuscript, it is the responsibility of the author to promptly contact and cooperate with the editor in obtaining a correction or retraction of such inaccuracies.

The editor and field editors of JAUVEP must fulfill the basic responsibilities in the "COPE Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors" published by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

• Maintain freedom of thought and discussion of ideas.
• Continuously improve the conditions and qualifications necessary for the journal to maintain its institutional structure.
