Dear Editors,
We are implementing a significant change in the DergiPark infrastructure to streamline your publishing processes! When this development is launched in December, you will be able to choose between two different publishing models according to your journal's workflow.
Definitions of the models and the new rules are provided below. Please review these items carefully before making your selection.
1. Continuous Publication Model
This model can be selected if your journal prefers to publish articles without waiting for an issue publication date.
ℹ️ Focus is on the Article: The logic of "Article publishing" applies, not "Issue publishing".
ℹ️ Date: What matters is the date the article is published. There is no issue publication date.
ℹ️ Sorting: Articles are automatically sorted by publication date.
ℹ️ Single Active Issue Rule: You can create multiple issues within the year. However, only "Active Issue" can be open at the same time. To open a new issue, you must close the current active issue.
Exception: While you have an active issue, you can create and publish a "Special Issue" at the same time.
❌ You cannot create Forthcoming Issue, Supplement Issue, or Early Pub.
❌ The Volume field does not exist in this model.
ℹ️ Entering page numbers is not mandatory.
ℹ️ The Issue field is not mandatory. If left blank, the system automatically prints the current "Year" as the issue information.
2. Periodical Publication Model
This model can be selected if your journal prefers the classical method of publishing articles collectively in specific months.
ℹ️ Declaration is Essential: You declare to the system in which months you will publish.
ℹ️ Classical Process: Issue is created > Articles are assigned to it > Issue is published collectively.
⚠️ Very Important Changes (Please Pay Attention!)
❌ Issue publication date: When the "Publish" button is clicked for the relevant issue, that day's date is automatically assigned by the system. The editor cannot make changes to the date.
❌ Forthcoming Issue cannot be created.
ℹ️ Early Pub:
-Early Pub is now a pool/status system.
-You can publish via the "Publish in Early Pub" button from the articles page. When the article is published, the system automatically records the early pub date.
-Articles in early pub can be assigned to an issue. However, they cannot be removed from early pub unless assigned to an issue.
