Art-ekin Art Desing Journal aims to publish original scientific articles by researchers working in the field of art and design, following the innovations guided by science and art. In this direction, it aims to create a platform that can be a resource for researchers. Art-ekin Journal includes interdisciplinary research in the fields of art, design and communication.

Painting, graphic design, visual communication design, fashion and design, cinema and television, photography, digital arts, new media, cyber culture, visual culture, digital society, digital gaming, ceramics, sculpture, music, music technologies, musicology, architecture, traditional arts, art history, archaeology, philosophy of art, sociology of art, contemporary art, etc. It publishes innovative, contributing, scientific articles in the fields of selected themes and subheadings under the main title.

• The article to be sent to the journal should be placed in the text file template and adapted to the writing styles in the template. The file should be named “First three words of the title_Text_File” (Click for Text File).
• All information regarding the author and authors should be written in the “Cover File”. The article sent to the journal should not include author information. The file should be named “First three words of Title_Cover_File” (Click for Cover File).
• APA 7 format should be taken into consideration when preparing the references page (Click for APA-7 Reference Guide).
• Articles sent to our journal should not have been published or sent for publication elsewhere. Authors are deemed to have committed to this by sending their work to our journal.
• Articles to be sent to our journal must be reviewed by iThenticate or Turnitin plagiarism program. Studies with a similarity rate of more than 15% (the bibliography, footnotes of the articles and similarities smaller than 15% are excluded from the Turnitin review) are rejected without being sent for peer review. • Only those who contributed to the relevant study should be considered as authors. Those with conflicts of interest, if any, should be declared at the end of the article.


Ethics Statement
In accordance with the requirements of TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM, ethics committee approval is mandatory for all studies involving human and animal participation. Accordingly, ethics committee approval for studies to be submitted to the journal should be stated as “Approval numbered XXX/XXX and dated XX.XX.XXXX was obtained from the Ethics Committee of (University Name) for this study.”
If the study does not require ethics committee approval, it should be stated that no approval is required as “This study does not use any data that constitutes personal data processing or copyright infringement, and does not contain any experimental procedures with human or animal samples that would require ethics committee approval.”


SCOPE AND PUBLICATION PRINCIPLES
Art-ekin Art Design Journal aims to publish original scientific articles of researchers who work in the field of art and design, who follow innovations under the guidance of science and art. In this direction, it aims to create a platform that can be a source for researchers.
Art-Ekin Art Design Journal is published twice a year by Çankırı Karatekin University Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture. Art-Ekin Art Design Journal publishes innovative, scientific articles that contribute to the field in the fields of selected themes and subheadings under the main headings of painting, graphic design, visual communication design, fashion and design, cinema and television, photography, digital arts, new media, cyber culture, visual culture, digital society, digital game, ceramics, sculpture, music, music technologies, architecture, traditional arts, art history, philosophy of art, sociology of art, contemporary art, etc. 


Other Publication Principles:

• All authors who will submit articles to our journal must sign and submit the “Copyright Transfer Agreement”. Articles sent to our journal must not have been published or sent for publication elsewhere. Authors are deemed to have committed to this by submitting their work to our journal.
• There is no possibility of adding or removing any authors after the article is published. If such a situation occurs, the article must be withdrawn by the author.
• The responsibility for the published articles belongs entirely to the author(s). The journal does not accept any responsibility. The publishing rights of the articles accepted for publication are transferred to the journal.
• The main language of the journal is Turkish, but articles in English are also accepted. Turkish articles sent to our journal must comply with the Turkish Language Association Writing Guide. The editor-in-chief and editors may make any spelling changes without changing the content in order to preserve the linguistic integrity of the article.
• When authors submit their applications; “First three words of the title_Text_File”, “First three words of the title_Cover_File”, “Art-ekin Author Information Form”, “Art-ekin Ethics Declaration Form”, “Conflict of Interest and Support Declaration Form”, “Plagiarism Report (iThenticate or Turnitin)” and “Copyright Transfer Agreement” must be sent electronically via DERGİPARK.

Ethical Principles and Publication Policy

Art-ekin Art Desing Journal is published twice a year, in June and December. The deadline for the author(s) who wish to submit an article to the June issue is May 15, and the deadline for the author(s) who wish to submit an article to the December issue is November 15. The publication language of Art-ekin Journal is Turkish. The studies sent to the journal are evaluated scientifically by blind review method after going through the editorial process.

Ethics Committee Approval received for research requiring Ethics Committee Permission must be documented and shown in the study (https://publicationethics.org/). In accordance with the personal data protection law, ethical committee permission is required for retrospective studies, qualitative or quantitative studies that require permission from the owners and collection of data from organizations to use surveys, scales, pictures and photographs belonging to others. It is used in all studies using survey, interview, focus group study, observation, experiment and interview techniques with participants. It should also be stated that the Publication Ethical Principles, Copyright Transfer Agreement and copyright regulations are complied with in the intellectual and artistic works used.

Art-ekin Journal, together with all its contributors, including authors, publishers, referees, editors and readers, is committed to complying with the issues specified in the Journal Editors' Guidelines prepared by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

The principles below have been prepared using the "COPE Code of Conduct and Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors" and "COPE Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors" guides.

Ethical Duties and Responsibilities of Editors

Editors must be responsible for everything published in their journal. They should always be ready to issue corrections, clarifications, retractions and apologies when necessary.
They must ensure that all printed texts published by the journal reflect the message and contextualize it.
They must have processes in place to ensure the quality of the material they publish.
Must be able to maintain the integrity of academic records.
They must manage freedom of expression well.
They should encourage and be aware of peer review and publication-related research and re-evaluate their journal's processes in light of new findings.
They should work to persuade their publishers to use appropriate resources and seek guidance from experts.
They should support initiatives designed to reduce research and publication abuses.
They should take initiatives to educate researchers about publication ethics.
They should evaluate the impact of journal policies on author and reviewer behavior, revising their policies as necessary to encourage responsible behavior and deter misconduct.
They must clearly identify non-peer-reviewed parts of the journal.
They must ensure that all their published work is reviewed by suitably qualified individuals.
They should adopt processes that promote accuracy, completeness and clarity of research reporting, including technical reporting.

Duties and Responsibilities of Editors Towards Readers
The editor should strive to make decisions aimed at meeting the needs of readers and the author(s).
The editor should try to constantly improve his journal as a result of the feedback he receives.
Actively seek out the opinions of author(s), readers, reviewers, and editorial board members about ways to improve the journal's processes.
It should encourage the use of appropriate guidelines and checklists. (e.g. MIAME,1 CONSORT2 )
Editors should clearly state who funded the research. Readers should be informed about who funded the research or other scientific work and whether the funders had any role in the research and its publication.
They should inform readers that submissions from journal staff or editorial board members are evaluated objectively and impartially.
They should develop a transparency policy to encourage maximum disclosure about the source of non-research articles.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Editor Towards Authors

Editors should issue guidance to the author(s) about everything that is expected of them. This guide should be updated regularly and linked to.
Editors should not revoke their decision to accept a submission unless they identify serious problems with the submission.
Editors' decisions to accept or reject an article for publication should be based on the article's importance, originality, clarity, validity of the work, and appropriateness to the journal's mandate.
A description of peer review processes should be published and editors should be prepared to justify any significant departures from the described processes.
Journals should have a declared mechanism for author(s) to appeal editorial decisions.
Editors should provide guidance on who should be listed as contributors in accordance with authorship criteria and/or standards in the relevant field.
New editors should not overturn the decision to publish previous editors' articles unless they identify serious problems.
It must ensure that appropriate reviewers are selected for submissions. (i.e. people who can evaluate the work and not disqualify competing interests)
Must respect author(s) requests not to review an individual's submissions, if reasonable and practicable.
The author should review their instructions regularly and provide links to relevant guides. (e.g. ICMJE5, Responsible research publication: international standards for author(s))
In cases of suspected misconduct or disputed authorship, guidance should be provided by COPE flowcharts (http://publicationethics.org/flowcharts).
They must publish details of how they handle cases of suspicion and abuse. (e.g. with links to COPE flowcharts)
Must publish submission and acceptance dates for articles.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Editor Towards Reviewers

Editors should have systems in place to ensure that the identity of reviewers is protected unless they use an open evaluation system that is communicated to the author(s) and reviewers.
They should encourage reviewers to comment on the originality of submissions and to be alert to unnecessary publication and plagiarism.
Editors should provide guidance to reviewers on all that is expected of them, including the need to treat submitted material confidentially. These guidelines should be updated regularly and should refer to or link to this code.
Editors should request reviewers to disclose possible competing interests before agreeing to review a submission.
They should encourage reviewers to comment on potential research and publication misconduct and ethical questions arising from submissions (e.g., unethical research design, insufficient detail on patient consent or protection of research subjects (including animals), inappropriate data manipulation and presentation).
Consideration of providing reviewers with tools to identify relevant publications (e.g. links to cited references and bibliographic searches)
All reviewer comments should be sent to the author(s) in full, unless they contain offensive or slanderous remarks.
They should encourage academic institutions to recognize peer review activities as part of the scientific process.
It should monitor the performance of peer reviews and take steps to ensure that it is of a high standard.
Develop and maintain a database of eligible reviewers and update it based on reviewers performance.
They should stop using reviewers who consistently produce discourteous, low-quality, or late reviews.
The reviewer database should ensure that it reflects the journal's community and add new reviewers as necessary.
Must use a wide range of sources (not just personal contacts) to identify potential new reviewers. (e.g. author recommendations, bibliographic databases)
In cases where reviewer misconduct is suspected, the COPE flowchart must be followed.
Editors should strive to ensure that peer review in their journals is fair, impartial, and timely.
Editors must have a blind peer review system to ensure that material submitted to their journal remains confidential during review.

Author(s) Responsibilities

The submitted article must be originally written by the author(s). Thoughts, suggestions and sources must be accurate and there must be no plagiarism in the article.
The author(s) must declare that they have individually participated in the study and that they take all responsibility for this study.
The author(s) must declare that they have seen and approved the final version of the submitted article and that the article has not been published or submitted for publication elsewhere.
The author(s) declare that the text, figures and documents contained in the article do not violate the copyrights of other parties; He accepts that Art-ekin Journal and the journal editors have no responsibility for claims or lawsuits to be filed by third parties in cases of violation, and all responsibility belongs to the author(s).

The author(s) owns the copyright on his/her work(s), but the right to publish the article for the first time belongs to Art-ekin Journal; the use of any part of the article in another publication is permitted provided that the journal is cited.
No copyright is paid for articles published in the journal.

Plagiarism Policy
All responsibility of the work belongs to the author(s) and should not contain plagiarism. The plagiarism report obtained from Turnitin or iThenticate programmes must be uploaded to the system as "Additional File" from "Article Files" together with the study. In order for the studies to be evaluated, the Turnitin or iThenticate plagiarism report (excluding references, excluding less than 5 words, including citations) must be 15% or less. The rate of utilisation of the same study should be maximum 3%. Studies with a similarity rate above these rates or without a Turnitin/iThenticate report will be rejected during the preliminary evaluation process.

Political and Commercial Concerns

The editor should follow the ICMJE (International Committee of Medical Journal Editors) recommendations for disclosure of potential conflicts of interest by author(s) and reviewers.

Price Policy

No fee is charged under any name from the author(s) or the organisations they work for.

Complaints Procedure

The editor follows the procedure specified in the COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) flowchart regarding complaints.

Privacy Policy

All articles sent to Art-ekin Journal are considered confidential documents and are not shared with anyone without the permission of the author(s).

2004 yılında Denizli Hakkı Dereköylü Anadolu Güzel Sanatlar Lisesinden, 2008 yılında Gazi Üniversitesi Gazi Eğitim Fakültesi Müzik Öğretmenliği lisans programından mezun oldu. Lisans yıllarında flüt çalışmalarının yanı sıra koro müziğine ilgi duydu ve 2005-2010 yılları arasında Kültür ve Turizm Bakanlığı Devlet Çoksesli Çocuk Korosu’nda koro şef yardımcısı olarak çeşitli çalışmalarda bulundu. Koro ile ulusal ve uluslararası konserlere, festivallere, yarışmalara katıldı; ödüller aldı. 2010 yılında Millî Eğitim Bakanlığına müzik öğretmeni olarak atandı ve 2010-2017 yılları arasında Ankara’nın çeşitli ilçelerinde müzik öğretmeni olarak görev yaptı. Öğretmenlik yıllarında yeniden lisans eğitim hayatına döndü ve 2015 yılında Ankara Üniversitesi Dil ve Tarih-Coğrafya Fakültesi Tarih bölümünden, 2022 yılında Ankara Üniversitesi İletişim Fakültesi Radyo, Televizyon ve Sinema bölümü lisans programından bölüm üçüncüsü olarak mezun oldu. Lisans eğitimiyle eş zamanlı olarak yüksek lisans çalışmalarını sürdürdü ve 2015’te Gazi Üniversitesi Eğitim Bilimleri Enstitüsü Müzik Öğretmenliği bilim dalında, 2018’de Ankara Üniversitesi Sosyal Bilimler Enstitüsü Türkiye Cumhuriyeti Tarihi kürsüsünde yüksek lisansını tamamladı. 2024 yılında Ankara Müzik ve Güzel Sanatlar Üniversitesi Müzik Bilimleri ana bilim dalında Prof. Dr. H. Alper MARAL danışmanlığında “İki Kutuplu Dünya Düzenine Eklemlenme Sürecinde Türkiye’de Egemen Fikir Akımları ve Başat Politikalar Ekseninde Müziğin Araçsallaştırılması (1945–1989)” başlıklı tezi ile doktora derecesi aldı. Aynı yıl Ankara Üniversitesi Dil ve Tarih-Coğrafya Fakültesi Antropoloji bölümünde yeniden lisans öğrenimine başlayan YAŞAR, 2017’den bu yana Çankırı Karatekin Üniversitesi Sanat, Tasarım ve Mimarlık Fakültesi Müzik Bölümü’nde öğretim görevlisi olarak görev yapmakta ve sanatsal çalışmalarının yanı sıra disiplinlerarası akademik faaliyetlerini sürdürmektedir.

Namık Kemal Sarıkavak, 1961’de İstanbul’da doğdu. 1978’den itibaren çeşitli reklam ve tasarım ajanslarıyla birlikte çalıştı. 1983’de Gazi Üniversitesi, Gazi Eğitim Fakültesi, Resim-İş Eğitimi Bölümü, Grafik Dalı Animasyon Atölyesi’nden mezun oldu. 1985’te Hacettepe Üniversitesi, Güzel Sanatlar Fakültesi, Uygulamalı Sanatlar Bölümü, Grafik Anasanat Dalı’na araştırma görevlisi olarak atandı. 1988’de Yüksek Lisans tez konusu “Grafik Tasarımda Airbrush Teknolojisi; Airbrush Tekniğiyle Afiş Çalışmaları"nı tamamladı. Aynı yıl Öğretim Görevlisi olarak atandı. 1993’de Sanatta Yeterlik tez konusu “Kültürel Afişlerde Tasarım ilkeleri; Kültürel Afiş Çalışmaları"nı tamamladı. 1996’da Yardımcı Doçent olarak atandı. 2002’de Doçent, 2012’de ise Profesör oldu.
1986’dan başlayarak Grafik Bölümü’nde bir süre Temel Sanat Eğitimi, Temel Grafik Eğitimi, Bilgisayar Destekli Tasarım, İllüstrasyon, Animasyon ve Grafik Atölye derslerini yürütmüş olup 2014’e kadar Desen, Yazı, Kaligrafi, Tipografi ve Grafik Atölye (Mezuniyet Projeleri) derslerini yürütmüştür. 2000’li yıllarda Hacettepe Üniversitesi dışında Başkent Üniversitesi (Ankara) ve Atatürk Üniversitesi’nde (Erzurum) de dersler vermiştir. 1986’dan 1994 yılına kadar katıldığı afiş ve pul yarışmalarında (birincilikler ve mansiyonlar olarak) toplam 10 ödül kazanmıştır. Daha sonraki yıllarda 2 teşvik ödülü bulunmaktadır. 1987’den itibaren günümüze değin 7 kişisel sergi açmış ve 70’den fazla karma sergiye katılmıştır.
Çeşitli süreli yayınlar ile 10’dan fazlası ulusal hakemli dergilerde olmak üzere afiş, kitap ve kapak tasarımı, grafik tasarım, tipografi, görsel iletişim ve iletişim tasarımı eğitimi ile ilköğretimde yazı eğitimi üzerine 60’dan fazla makale ve çevirisi yayınlanmıştır. 1988’den bugüne değin sekiz kitabı basılmıştır. 2000’den sonra yayınlanan beş kitaptan “Görsel İletişim ve Grafik Tasarımda Çağdaş Tipografinin Temelleri (3. Baskı)” “Kaligrafik ve Tipografik Deneysel Tasarımlar (2. Baskı)” ve “Görsel İletişim ve Grafik Tasarımda Airbrush Teknolojisi (1. Baskı)” adlı son üç kitabı ilgili yayınevleri ve büyük kitabevlerinde halen mevcuttur.
Son olarak Hacettepe Üniversitesi, Güzel Sanatlar Fakültesi, Grafik Bölümü’nde bölüm ve anasanat dalı başkanlığı görevini tamamlamış olarak yüksek lisans ve sanatta yeterlik düzeyinde tipografi ve teknoloji temelli ileri düzey dersler ile akademik ve sanatsal çalışmalarını sürdürmektedir.

Prof. Dr. Çiğdem Belgin DİKMEN YOZGAT BOZOK UNIVERSITY, FACULTY OF ENGINEERING-ARCHITECTURE

1962 yılında Ankara’da doğdu. İlk ve orta öğrenimini burada tamamladı. 1985 yılında Gazi Üniversitesi Mühendislik Mimarlık Fakültesi Mimarlık Bölümü’nden mezun oldu. Yüksek Lisans ve doktora eğitimini aynı üniversitede tamamladı. Mimarlık bürolarında mimar, büro şefi; çeşitli inşaatlarda şantiye şefi olarak çalıştı. Ankara Büyükşehir Belediyesi’nde Çevre Düzenleme, Sağlık ve Sosyal Hizmetler Daire Başkanlığı’nda çeşitli görevlerde bulundu. 2007 yılında Yrd. Doç. Dr., 2018 yılında Doç. Dr. Olarak görev yaptı. 2024 yılından bu yana aynı fakültede Prof. Dr. olarak görevini sürdürmektedir. Çeşitli dönemlerde Bozok Üniversitesi Mühendislik Mimarlık Fakültesi Mimarlık Bölümü’nde Bölüm Başkan Yardımcılığı ve Bölüm Başkanlığı görevlerinde bulundu.

Fatih KURTCU 1984 yılında doğdu. Hacettepe Üniversitesi Güzel Sanatlar Fakültesi Grafik Bölümü’nde Doçent olarak görev yapmaktadır. Lisans eğitimini 2007 yılında Hacettepe Üniversitesi’nde tamamladı. Yüksek lisansını Hacettepe Üniversitesi Sosyal Bilimler Enstitüsü Grafik Anabilim Dalı’nda 2011 yılında tamamladı. Üçü yurtdışı olmak üzere altı kişisel sergisi bulunmaktadır. Yurtiçi ve yurtdışında çeşitli davetli, karma sergi ve projelerde yer aldı. 2016 yılında Hacettepe Üniversitesi Güzel Sanatlar Fakültesi Grafik Bölümü’nde “Üç Boyutlu Kinetik Tipografi” başlıklı teziyle doktorasını tamamladı. Anadolu Üniversitesi Açıköğretim Fakültesi Görsel İletişim Bölümü için editörlüğünü yaptığı iki adet tipografi ve hareketli grafik kitabı bulunmaktadır. Çok sayıda makale, bildiri ve kitap bölümü bulunmaktadır. Özellikle tipografi tasarımı, font tasarımı, kinetik tipografi, afiş tasarımı üzerine çalışmalarını sürdürmekte ve üniversitede tipografi, temel grafik, kinetik tipografi dersleri vermeye devam etmektedir. Doç. Dr. Emine Sibel Hattap, Araştırma görevlisi olarak Mimar Sinan Güzel Sanatlar Üniversitesi, Meslek Yüksekokulu, Mimarlık ve Şehir Planlama Bölümü, Mimari Restorasyon Programında 29 Nisan 1994 yılında göreve başlamıştır, halen aynı bölümde Doçent Doktor olarak görevine devam etmektedir.
