Abstract

The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between the self efficacy and anger levels of preschool aged children’s mothers. The sample of the research includes 135 mothers who are willing to participate in the study and whose children goes to pre-school education institutions located in European and Asian sides of İstanbul province. In order to gather data for the research Demographic data form, Berkeley Parents Self-Efficacy Scale, Pre-School Form developed by Susan Holloway (2005) and translated into Turkish by Zembat and friends (2008), and State-Trait Anger Scale developed by Spielberger (1988) and translated into Turkish Kadir Özer (1994) are used. Parenting self-efficacy and anger levels of parents participating in the research are examined in terms of gender of child and the family’s level of income. In addition, except the anger control sub dimension, between the self-efficacy levels and anger levels of the mothers’ have been found a negative relationship

OKUL ÖNCESİ EĞİTİM KURUMUNA DEVAM EDEN ÇOCUKLARIN ANNELERİNİN ÖZ YETERLİLİK VE ÖFKE DÜZEYLERİNİN İNCELENMESİ1

Abstract

Bu araştırmanın amacı okul öncesi eğitim kurumuna devam eden çocukların annelerinin öz yeterlilik ve öfke düzeyleri arasındaki ilişkinin incelenmesidir. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu İstanbul ili Anadolu ve Avrupa yakasında okul öncesi eğitim kurumlarına devam eden çocuğu olan ve araştırmaya katılmaya gönüllü olan 135 anneden oluşmaktadır. Veri toplama aracı olarak Demografik bilgi formu ve Susan Holloway (2005) tarafından geliştirilen ve Zembat ve diğ. (2008) tarafından Türkçeye uyarlanan Berkeley Ebeveyn Öz Yeterlilik Ölçeği Okul Öncesi Formu ve Spielberger (1988) tarafından geliştirilen ve Kadir Özer (1994) tarafından Türkçeye uyarlanan Sürekli Öfke-Öfke Tarzı Ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Annelerin öfke düzeylerinin çocuğun cinsiyeti ve ailenin gelir durumuna göre farklılık gösterdiği bulunmuştur. Ayrıca annelerin öz yeterlilik düzeyi ile öfke düzeyi arasında öfke kontrol boyutu dışında diğer boyutlarında negatif yönlü anlamlı ilişkiler olduğu tespit edilmiştir.
