Publication Principles

The journal is published in print and electronic media three times a year, in January, May and September. All published articles can be accessed in full text at www.turkiyatjournal.com and https://dergipark.org.tr/tr/pub/ataunitaed.
Printed copies are also delivered to the relevant libraries and researchers. Journal indexed such as TR Dizin, MIAR, Modern Language Association (MLA), SciLit, WorldCat, OpenAIRE, Sobiad, Researchgate, Asosindex, Acarindex, Akademik Dizin

Publication Principles
Atatürk University Journal of Turkic Studies (JTRI), publishes studies and researches on Turkey and the Turkish World which prepared in scientific criteria. The publications in JTRI will contribute to the studies of Turkey in theoretical and methodological terms and prepare an environment for the research to reach the international level in this process, JTRI aims to gain new perspectives and approaches to Turcology research that it carries to different fields.
Publication Language
The journal’s language is Turkey Turkish. However, writings can be published in other Turkish dialects and other languages that are widely accepted worldwide.

Sending Articles
The article must sent to the journal with the membership created by the author on the address www.turkiyejournal.com. When uploading studies it should be ensured that any information about the author or authors is not included. This is important for referees who will examine the article more comfortable. Only one publication of the same author is accepted for publication in the same year


Editorial Board Preliminary Consideration
The articles submitted to the journal are subject to preliminary consideration by the editorial board (in form and content). The Editorial Board searches for the conditions such have not been published anywhere (including in scientific meetings) or accepted for publication other journals and not to be produced from the thesis. Studies that are not able meet scientific and journal critesia returned to the author without being examined by the referee. At this stage, the article can be rejected by the editor, asked for correction or the decision to be evaluated study by the referee.

Referee Process
The studies approved by the editor are subjected to a rigorous evaluation process by at least 2 referees from the same discipline. Referees evaluate articles in areas such as journal writing rules, scientific quality, contribution to national / universal science and practice.
The article enters the article tracking system with positive / negative / correction suggestions by the referee. The editor approves the decisions of the referee via the Article Tracking System and sends them to the author. The studies with two positive referee reports and complete the referee corrections, add to the “Articles to be Published" queue. If the two referees give negative, the article is cannot be published. When there are positive and negative referee reports for the same article, the article is sent to the third referee. The works, which cannot provide the majority positively, are rejected by the Editorial Board.
Journal uses the blind referee method. The name of the author is not clarified to the referees and the name of the referee is not shared with the authors. Referee reports are kept for 5 years. The names of the referees are included in the relevant issue of the journal.

Articles which placed in the “Articles to be Published” queue, inform mail sent authors official e-mail address to give finalize their study and information when the article will be published. Articles that have been finalized study (author / authors names, contact, and ORCID information have been added) come from the author, the article is passed through plagiarism detection.

Ethical Rules – Documents
Publication Ethics: The path to be followed in publication ethics, research ethics, legal / special permissions has been clearly defined in our journal. The articles must comply with national and international publications and research ethics.
Although publication ethics in the articles sent to our journal is under the responsibility of the authors, the editorial board also examines plagiarism (Turnitin or iThenticate). With this process, the aim is to increase the originality and scientific quality of the articles and prevent plagiarism
The opinions and thoughts expressed in the articles at the responsibility of their authors and do not reflect the views of our journal and our institution; All scientific and legal responsibilities of the articles belong to their authors.
Research Ethics: In articles, it is necessary to obtain permission from the owners for the use of scales, surveys, photographs, and copyright regulations for the ideas and works of art used in the study.
If the study requires the use of subjects (human and animal), the international declaration of the study, guidance, etc. The author must be declared that, tests performed according to these rule
Legal / Special Permission Document: Some documents requested in the following cases legal / special permission for articles sent to our journal. Whether the ethical committee permission or legal / special permission is required or not it is specified on the cover page of the article. If permissions required, it is requested by the author or authors to explicitly submit the permission from which institution, the exact date and decision or number and must be added end of the article.
Although the studies presented at the scientific meetings and the papers produced from the theses are not accepted to our journal as of 2020, but if believed to study would have contribute science and development, it can publish after permission from the editor and it is obligatory to get a letter from the author / consultant and the symposium committee.
- Any research carried out with qualitative or quantitative approaches that require data collection from participants using survey, interview, focused group work, observation, experiment, interview techniques,
- Use of humans and animals (including material / data) for experimental or other scientific purposes and clinical research,
- Retrospective studies under the Law on Protection of Personal Data,
- In the case reports, specify that the “Informed Consent Form” was taken.

Publishing Stage
The finalized study’s DOI process is completed. DOI numbers, arrival, acceptance and publication dates and QR code are added to the cover page of each article, the study published first at www.turkiyejournal.com and then https://dergipark.org.tr/tr/pub/ataunitaed addresses.

Print and Afterward
After the online publication, the journal is sent to the press for printing. When journals printing is completed, it’s sent to national and international libraries, writers, referees and researchers free of charge.
When the journal's publication has been completed, it is presented to the indexes, primarily TR-Dizin (ODIS), together with the referee reports.
All or some part of the articles published in the journal, cannot be copied or reproduced in any way without the written permission of the publisher, and can only be quoted by showing the original source.
