Analysis of Soundscapes on Industrial Zones: Bursa Beşevler Industrial Zone Periphery Example

Abstract

The acoustic environment is a component of city identity and is directly related to the context of residential, transportation, history, etc. Any changes in these contexts also affect city components and sound is also part of those. Following the rapid development era of the Industrial Revolution, the acoustic environment in industrial areas has also changed. Bursa City, a growing city alongside industrial areas, leads to the development of transportation features, residential areas, and acoustic quality, which results in increased noise levels. This study aims to examine the soundscapes of the Bursa Besevler Industrial Zone. After conducting a soundwalking method, sound pressure levels (SPLs) were measured and recorded for further analysis. Moreover, unique sounds sources were also recorded (If existed). Based on measurements, vehicle-related sounds were observed and identified as dominant sounds.

Sanayi Bölgelerinin İşitsel Peyzaj Yönünden İrdelenmesi: Bursa Beşevler Sanayi Bölgesi Çeperi Örneği

Abstract

Akustik çevre kent kimliğini oluşturan öğelerden olmakla beraber, konut, sanayi, ulaşım, tarih vb. alanları ile doğrudan ilişkilidir. Akustik çevre, bir çevredeki seslerin tümünü ifade eden kavramdır. Bir çevredeki öğelerin zaman içinde değişmesi kent öğelerini de değiştirir ve seslerde bu değişimin parçasıdır. Bu çalışmaya konu olan Bursa kenti, kent içinde kalan sanayi bölgeleri ve buna bağlı olarak gelişen ulaşım dokusu, yerleşim alanları nedeniyle zaman içinde gürültü seviyesin arttığı bir bölge haline gelmiştir. Bu araştırmada Bursa Beşevler Sanayi Sitesi (BSS) çeperinde işitsel peyzaj ele alınmıştır. Yapılan (ses yürüyüşleri) ile sanayi alanında belirlenen noktaların ses seviyeleri ölçülmüş ve işitilen sesler not edilmiştir. Sanayi alanının ses ölçümleri sonucu gürültü yaratmadığı, gürültü kuşağında trafiğe bağlı olarak araç ve korna seslerinin baskın olduğu görülmüştür. Araştırma, sanayi bölgelerine özgün işitsel peyzaj öğesi saptayamamış, ancak yapılan ölçümlerin sanayi çeperinde dahi dünya standartları üst sınırlarına yakın seviyelerde olduğunu saptamıştır.
