Author Guidelines

WRITING RULES

• Authors submitting articles to the Ankara University Faculty of Fine Arts Journal must register for an individual account on the DergiPark system. They should create an individual account via the page at https://dergipark.org.tr/en/login and then upload their articles and files to the system via our journal’s page at https://dergipark.org.tr/en/journal/3067/submission/step/manuscript/new.

• The Journal of the Faculty of Fine Arts, Ankara University, adheres to a publication ethics framework that embraces international standards and guidelines. For studies requiring an ethics committee certificate, the “Ethics Committee Certificate” must be uploaded to the “Files” section along with the article. • For papers with multiple authors, the authors must complete and sign the “Additional Declarations Form” as a statement of their contributions and any conflicts of interest, and upload it to the “Files” section via the system.

• If the paper is derived from a thesis or a project, or if it was presented as a conference paper, this must be clearly stated on the first page of the article. 

• During the manuscript submission process, if the study has received support from any institution, organization, or funding source, this support must be clearly stated. Additionally, if there are any individuals, institutions, or organizations to be acknowledged, the relevant information must be clearly included in the manuscript.

• If AI-based tools (such as ChatGPT, Grammarly, etc.) were used during the article production process, the specific stages in which they were utilized must be clearly indicated. This information must be provided at the time of submission. All responsibility for the use of AI rests with the authors.

• The copyright for articles published in our journal belongs to the authors, and they are published as open access under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license. During the article submission process, the 📄 Journal - Copyright Notice form must be completed and uploaded to the system. 

• Authors submitting articles to our journal must provide their author identification numbers—which they can obtain free of charge from orcid.org—to our editorial office along with their manuscript.

• The legal responsibility for articles published in the journal rests with the authors.

• All authors contributing to our journal’s publication process can track all stages of the process on their personal pages by logging in with their username and password via the DergiPark user panel, in accordance with our principle of transparency.

• Manuscripts submitted to our journal must be prepared in accordance with our article template. Submissions that do not comply with the article template will not be considered in the review process. 

TITLE: The Turkish title should be in bold, all caps, 12-point font, and centered; the English title should appear immediately below the Turkish title, with the first letter of each word capitalized, in 11-point font, and centered. The article title should be no more than 12 words.

AUTHOR NAME: In the article, the author’s first and last names should be right-aligned and in 11-point bold font. The authors’ titles, affiliations, and email addresses are indicated in a footnote marked with an asterisk (*). During the peer review process, in accordance with our double-blind peer review policy, the authors’ personal information is removed or anonymized. 

ABSTRACT: Following the article title, an abstract in both Turkish and English—consisting of at least 120 and no more than 300 words—and keywords in both Turkish and English (at least 5 words each) must be written in 11-point font. The abstract is expected to provide an overview of the study’s scope, purpose, methodology, implications, and results.

SECTION HEADINGS: All subheadings must be in bold with the first letter capitalized. If numbering is used, the “Introduction” and “Conclusion” sections should not be numbered.

TABLES AND FIGURES: The number and title of a table or figure must appear immediately below the table or figure.

SOURCES: If a source has been cited but not edited by the author, the citation information must be provided in 12-point font, left-aligned, and in italics.

VISUAL SOURCES: The number and title of the visual must appear immediately below the visual.
Figure 1: The figure caption should appear below the figure, in italics, 11-point font, and left-aligned. The figure number should be in bold.

Length: The article, including appendices, should be no more than 10,000 words.
In addition, for manuscripts that use a special font, the font file must be submitted along with the manuscript. Manuscripts should not include details such as page numbers, headers, or footers. In terms of spelling and punctuation, the Turkish Language Association’s Spelling Guide should be followed, except in special cases required by the article or the subject matter. No characters from alphabets other than the Latin alphabet should be used in the references of the articles.

Authors should refer to the guidelines provided below regarding writing conventions.
