Publication Principles

Apart from 'Ethical Principles' and 'Writing Rules', the publication principles adopted by Akdeniz İİBF Journal are as follows. Submissions of articles that do not comply with these principles will not be accepted.

  • No royalties are paid to the author(s) for the works published in the journal.
  • The works of researchers from outside the university are also evaluated.
  • An author's work cannot be published more than once in the same issue or in two consecutive issues, even if the work is multi-authored.
  • Only one of the articles published in an issue may be by a member of Akdeniz University Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences.
  • Publication Process of Special Issues:

The Editorial Board may propose a special issue to a university faculty member who is an expert in his/her field. The special issue proposal may also come from the faculty member himself/herself. In this case, the faculty member prepares a proposal for the special issue he/she wants to publish and submits it to the Editorial Board. The Board of Editors makes a decision based on the evaluation of the proposal. The faculty member who accepts the proposal or whose proposal is accepted becomes the "special issue editor". The special issue editor publishes the special issue call. In addition, he/she may invite authors to write an article on the topic determined for them by correspondence. The special issue editor is completely independent in the selection of the special issue topic, article titles and authors. All articles planned to be included in the special issue are subject to the reviewing process of the journal. In special issues, review processes are followed by the special issue editor, not by the field editors. Articles deemed suitable for publication by the reviewers are published in the special issue with the approval of the special issue editor. The special issue editor is expected to work in harmony with the editor-in-chief and field editors and to act in accordance with the journal's publication ethics and other policies. Preparations for special issues are started at least six months before the publication period.

  • Post-Publication Correction and Withdrawal Policy:

Akdeniz İİBF Journal may issue a post-publication notice, correction, or retraction to address three types of issues: (1) Errors discovered post-publication by the author or third parties that affect the interpretation or indexing of the article; (2) Issues related to compliance with journal standards and policies; (3) Issues raised post-publication that have an impact on the integrity, reliability and/or validity of published articles. Requests for detection, suspicion, or correction in these cases can be sent to the journal e-mail address, including the article DOI number, the relevant article citation, and a description of the error.

Correction: If the reported errors do not affect the overall conclusions, findings, completeness, and reliability of the article, but only the content or understanding of the study, a correction is published. In most cases, corrections are published in the following issue only as a disclaimer. If deemed necessary, the original online version may be changed and a new corrected version of the article may be published. In this case, the article and the changes are published with a detailed disclaimer.

Retraction: The retraction process is followed based on the COPE guidelines to correct the literature assessment of the study or to inform readers about issues related to the accuracy, validity, and reliability of an article. Before a retraction is completed, all authors are informed about the retraction decision and how it will be announced online. In such a case, the article may be replaced with a version watermarked "Retracted" with a retraction note. In the print version, a retraction notice will be published in the first subsequent issue. Once an article is withdrawn, it is no longer considered part of the published issue, but remains online with a clear indication that it has been retracted and cannot be cited.
