ADEZİVLER: GENEL İLKELER VE TEKNİĞİN SON DURUMU

Year 2012, Volume: 1 Issue: 3, 164 - 168, 31.12.2012

Abstract

ADHESIVES: GENERAL PRINCIPLES AND THE STATE OF ART

Year 2012, Volume: 1 Issue: 3, 164 - 168, 31.12.2012

Abstract

OBJECTIVE: Adhesion is a process of forming an adhesive joint, which keeps two substrates joined together.

METHODS: The aim of a bonded restoration to provide an intimate adaption of the restorative material with the dental substrate. This is more difficult to achieve as the bonding process for enamel is different from that for dentin.

RESULTS: This depends on that the dentine is more humid and more organic than enamel. Bonding strength of the total etch strategy, one of the techniques used to ensure adhesion, is superior to self-etch strategy, especially when binding to enamel. Although, self-etch strategies have advantages like application simplicity and time. These features make it easy for difficult application areas like pediatric dentistry.

CONCLUSION: Nowadays, with many developments of adhesive systems, the life of restorative treatments and clinical success will be increased when dentists follow these developments regularly and choose suitable materials.
