Article Submission and Peer Review Process

For the Submission

Bezgek Journal of Teaching Turkish to Foreigners conducts a double-blind peer-review process for candidate articles. All candidate articles submitted to our journal must be original and must not have been published in any other journal before. In addition, the candidate article should not be in the evaluation process in another journal and should not be sent to another journal after the evaluation process of the candidate article sent to our journal has started until the evaluation process is finalised. In case of such applications, the articles of the author(s) will not be evaluated in any way.

When submitting articles to our journal, authors are required to strictly comply with the article submission processes. In this context, the following files should be uploaded during the manuscript submission process.

1- Title page

2- Similarity ratio declaration and similarity ratio file.

3- Ethics committee certificate (This document is mandatory for studies that require Ethics committee authorisation)

4- Copyright transfer agreement

5- Full text file (The full text file should be filled in accordance with the journal template and any information about the authors should not be included in the main text file).

When submitting an article to the journal, the above documents must be attached and the article must be submitted. The responsibility in this regard belongs to the authors. If the requested documents are not uploaded, the article will be returned to the author.

The candidate articles sent to the journal are directed to the relevant editors for the evaluation process after the compliance of the above-mentioned files with the journal rules is checked by the journal secretariat at the pre-control stage. Candidate articles that are determined to be suitable for the purpose and scope of the journal are directed to the field editors. The field editors appoint two expert referees in accordance with the blind referee system, taking into account the nature of the study. The evaluation process is shown in the graphic below.

Evaluaion Process

Articles submitted to the journal are sent to at least two referees for evaluation after the editor's approval. As a result of the evaluation from the referees, the Editor evaluates the article in line with the opinions. If the opinion of one of the referees is positive and the opinion of the other is negative, the article is sent to a third referee and a decision is made according to the opinion of the third referee.

Evaluation Calendar

  • Initial Evaluation Process (Editorial Evaluation): Maximum 1 week

  • Preliminary Evaluation Process (Field Editor Evaluation): Maximum 2 weeks

  • Refereeing Process (Referee Assignment Process): Maximum 1 week

  • Referee Evaluation Process (Creation of Referee Reports): Maximum 6 weeks

  • Evaluation Result (Decision of the Field Editor): Maximum 1 week

  • Editorial Board Decision (Notification of the Result to the Author or Authors): Maximum 1 week

Note: The publication evaluation process is expected to take a maximum of 5 months.
