Ethical Principles for Authors
Articles to be published must be original. Submitted articles must not have been previously published in another journal or submitted for publication. All of the references must be fully cited. It is not possible to remove an author or add an author to an article in the evaluation process. Conflicts of interest should be stated in the “Conflict of Interest” section within the manuscript. Brands of the materials, name and brands of the devices and name and versions of the software used must be stated in the manuscript. In case of clinical research and animal studies, relevant ethical committee approval must be stated with the approval code. If asked, authors must explain the rationale for their approach and provide ethical approval document. Artificial intelligence (AI) cannot be used to create data and edit shapes. If AI is used in the writing process of the manuscript or in the article content, the authors should state the extent of the use of AI. Plagiarism is automatically checked, following submission.
Journal of Boron will retract the article in case the of violation of ethical principles.
Ethical Principles for Reviewers
The evaluation invitation must be answered positively or negatively and the evaluation process must be completed within the given time. Reviewers should agree to referee only in the evaluation of studies related to their area of expertise. Evaluation should be made impartially and without prejudice. Manuscripts should be evaluated in a constructive and courteous manner, in accordance with academic etiquette. Reviewers should not have a conflict of interest with the research or the authors. After the evaluation process, the text of the article and other related files should be destroyed.
Plagiarism
By submitting a manuscript to Journal of Boron, authors acknowledge and consent to having their work screened for plagiarism, whereby it is compared against previously published materials. Submitted manuscripts are first reviewed by the editor and editorial board according to predefined criteria. Manuscripts deemed suitable then undergo a similarity check using plagiarism detection software.
Similarity ratios of the manuscripts are checked by Journal of Boron, with DergiPark's built-in software intihal.net.
The maximum acceptable similarity score is 15%. If a manuscript exceeds this threshold, the journal will contact the author(s) to request revisions, with the specific requirements determined by the nature and context of the matched content.
Publication Policy
All articles submitted to the journal are evaluated by the editorial board for their suitability regarding the journal's scope and formatting guidelines. Editors may decide to reject an article or return it to the author(s) for revision prior to sending it for peer review. Articles are evaluated using a double-blind peer review process. Journal of Boron evaluates manuscript with at least 2 peer reviewers.
Journal of Boron is the official, periodic, peer-reviewed, open access scientific publication of Turkish Energy, Nuclear and Mineral Research Agency, Boron Research Institute (TENMAK BOREN). Journal of Boron, whose first issue was published in 2016, is published quarterly in March, June, September, and December. Special issues may also be published during the year when necessary. Journal of Boron onducts its publishing activities in accordance with the Committee on Publication Ethics (CoPE) guidelines.
All manuscripts submitted to Journal of Boron are first assessed by the editorial board for their fit with the journal's scope and adherence to the writing guidelines. At this stage, editors may reject a manuscript outright or return it to the author(s) for revision prior to peer review.
Manuscripts that pass this initial screening are evaluated under a double-blind peer-review system, in which the identities of both authors and reviewers remain confidential. Each manuscript is reviewed by at least two subject-matter referee. Based on the reviewers' feedback, editors may request that authors revise their manuscript accordingly.
Revised manuscripts must be resubmitted within the timeframe specified by the journal — typically one to two weeks, depending on the extent of revisions required. Authors who require additional time should contact the relevant editor directly; the granting of any extension remains at the editor's discretion. If a revised manuscript is not submitted within the allotted time, the submission process must be restarted as a new application.
The journal aims to notify authors of the evaluation outcome within eight weeks of submission. The editor will inform the corresponding author of the final decision — whether acceptance or rejection. Withdrawal requests submitted during the evaluation period without valid justification will not be accepted. By submitting to the journal, all authors agree to accept editorial revisions to their manuscript, provided such changes do not alter its fundamental meaning.
Journal of Boron is an open-access publication, meaning its content is freely available to all readers at no cost, with no charge to either the reader or their institution. In accordance with the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI) definition of open access, users may read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, and link to the full text of any article, or use it for any other lawful purpose, without requiring prior permission from the publisher or authors.
