Abstract

Year 2022, Volume: 23 Issue: 1, 269 - 293, 14.01.2022

Abstract

Most burn-out research has focused on environmental relationships, but personality factors are also likely to play an essential role in developing burn-out. This study, it is aimed to examine the relationship between the Big Five personality traits and the perception of burn-out, and the mediating effect of abusive supervision in this relationship. The population is the bank employees in the service sector. Data was collected from 372 people by convenience sampling method, and structural analysis modeling was used to determine the relationships between variables. According to the results, agreeableness and neuroticism are predictors of abusive supervision and burn-out. In addition, abusive management has a mediating role in the relationship between personality traits and burn-out.
