Our journal may publish special and supplementary issues with the aim of supporting scientific advancements, drawing attention to current and emerging research areas, and bringing together high-quality academic work on specific topics. Special and supplementary issues may be planned in accordance with a specific topic or research area, the outcomes of scientific projects, the themes of congresses, conferences, workshops, or symposia, or current scientific developments, provided they are consistent with the journal’s objectives and scope.

The decision to publish a special or supplementary issue is made by the Editorial Board. The topic, scope, publication date, language of publication, and editorial planning for the special or supplementary issue are determined by the Editorial Board.

To ensure that the editorial processes for special and supplementary issues are conducted effectively and systematically, a special issue editor, guest editor, or a separate editorial team may be appointed, independent of the editorial team responsible for the journal’s regular issues. Editors working on special and supplementary issues are also required to comply with the journal’s general publication policies, scientific review standards, principles of publication ethics, and editorial practices.

All manuscripts submitted for special and supplementary issues are evaluated in accordance with the same fundamental principles as the scientific review and peer-review processes applied to the journal’s regular issues. The fact that a work is planned for a special or supplementary issue does not grant it any preferential treatment regarding acceptance or publication. The practice of special and supplementary issues does not alter the principles of editorial independence, impartiality, scientific review, peer review, and publication ethics. All submissions undergo a preliminary review process, and those deemed suitable are evaluated using the double-blind peer review method established by the journal.

Appropriate measures are taken to prevent conflicts of interest in the review processes involving the work of editors who have articles in special or supplementary issues. Such editors are barred from participating in editorial decisions and review processes regarding their own articles, and their relevant editorial authorities are restricted throughout the process. The evaluation of these works is conducted by another editor with no conflict of interest or by an independent editor appointed by the Editorial Board. This ensures that the principle of double-blind peer review and the impartiality of the evaluation process are upheld.

The number of works to be published in special and supplementary issues is determined by taking into account the journal’s publication capacity, editorial planning, scope of topics, and scientific quality criteria. Submission of a manuscript for a special or supplementary issue does not guarantee its publication. The journal does not provide any guarantee of acceptance or publication to any author or manuscript. Manuscripts deemed unsuitable as a result of peer review, editorial review, and the journal’s scientific publication criteria may be rejected.

All works published in special and supplementary issues are subject to the journal’s copyright, open access, archiving, licensing, and publication ethics policies. Works published in special and supplementary issues are held to the same scientific, ethical, and editorial standards as those published in the journal’s regular issues.
