PUBLICATION PRINCIPLES AND WRITING GUIDELINES

A) PUBLICATION PRINCIPLES 

1. The Diyanet Arabic Scientific Journal is a peer-reviewed academic journal published by the Presidency of Religious Affairs that features research and review articles in religious and social fields. Our journal is published twice a year, in June and December.
2. In line with the Presidency of Religious Affairs’ objective of “enlightening society on religious matters,” the journal publishes original, scholarly works that contribute to religious sciences and meet scientific standards. The Editorial Board decides on the publication of research that does not fall under the aforementioned criteria.
3. The journal’s language of publication is Arabic.
4. Authors whose articles are published in the journal are paid a royalty fee in accordance with the “Regulation on Royalties and Adaptation Rights Paid by Public Institutions and Organizations.” The authors retain copyright ownership of their work published in the Diyanet Arabic Scientific Journal, and their contributions are licensed under Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International (CC BY-NC 4.0).
5. Articles submitted to the journal must not have been previously published in another publication or currently under review for publication elsewhere.
6. Submitted articles must specify the type of work (review/research/commentary), etc.
7. Articles are submitted via the DergiPark article tracking system. The author’s name, title, institutional affiliation, as well as phone number, email address, and ORCID number must be included on the first page.
8. Researchers are obligated to implement the revisions recommended or specified by the reviewers for the publication of their work.
9. If the manuscript is derived from a thesis, a project, or was presented as a conference paper, this must be clearly stated on the first page of the manuscript. 
10. For multi-authored works, authors must submit a declaration of contribution and a conflict of interest statement at the time of submission. For works derived from graduate theses, the author with the highest contribution must be a student.
11. At the time of submission, if the work has received support from any institution, organization, or funding source, this support must be clearly stated. Additionally, if there are any individuals, institutions, or organizations to be acknowledged, the relevant information must be clearly included in the manuscript.
12. If AI-based tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Grammarly, etc.) were used during the manuscript preparation process, the specific stages in which they were utilized must be clearly stated. This information must be provided at the time of submission. All responsibility regarding the use of artificial intelligence rests with the authors.
13. Our journal requires that approval be obtained from the relevant ethics committee for all research requiring such approval. This includes qualitative or quantitative research in which data is collected from participants through methods such as surveys, interviews, focus groups, observations, and discussions, as well as retrospective studies conducted under the Personal Data Protection Law. In such studies, the name of the ethics committee, the approval date, and the decision number must be clearly stated in the text of the article. Studies without ethics committee approval will not be considered for review.
14. The research and reviews published in the journal express the personal views of the researchers and authors and do not represent the official stance or opinion of the journal. The scientific and legal responsibility for the articles rests with the authors.

B) WRITING GUIDELINES

1. Manuscripts submitted to our journal must be written in Microsoft Office Word or converted to this format before submission. Submitted manuscripts, including all appendices, must conform to the journal’s formatting guidelines and must not exceed 50 pages in total. 
2. Manuscripts must include a title and abstract (150–200 words) in Turkish, English, and Arabic, as well as a list of keywords in Turkish, English, and Arabic consisting of at least five and no more than eight words, and a “Bibliography” listing the works cited at the end of the article. While works published in Arabic and those published in other alphabets are listed under separate headings, all works cited in the article must also be listed under the heading “Bibliography” using the Latin alphabet.
3. The page layout must be A4 size, with margins set to 2.5 cm. 
4. In manuscripts submitted for publication, the main text must be written in the Traditional Naskh font, 13-point size, with 1.15 line spacing. Headings in the main text must be in the same font, 13-point size, and bold. If text in a language other than Arabic is used in the submitted manuscript, it must be written in the Times New Roman font, size 12.
5. In the article, the author’s name must be followed by their title (if any) and the institution where they are employed; the author’s ORCID number and email address must be provided in a footnote marked with an asterisk.
6. Article section headings should be formatted as follows:

7. If tables and figures contain copyrighted material, written permission must be obtained from the copyright holder for both print and electronic use, and the source must be cited below the table or figure with the notation “Source.” 
8. The number of figures or tables used in the study is limited to a maximum of 10. 
9. Footnotes must be added in the Traditional Naskh font, 11-point size, with 1.0 line spacing.
10. Footnote reference numbers must be placed after punctuation marks.

12. Footnotes must be presented in numbered form at the bottom of each page. The following order must be followed when citing sources in footnotes: author’s name, book title, volume number/page number.
