SYMMETRY PROPERTIES OF THE FRACTIONAL FOURIER TRANSFORM

Abstract

In this article, we derive symmetry properties of the fractional Fourier transform (FrFT) concerning real signals that possess even or odd symmetry. For the angle parameter value 2 π φ = , the symmetry properties of the FrFT reduce to the corresponding properties of the classical Fourier transform. Through some examples, it is also shown that a lately proposed discrete FrFT algorithm approximating the continuous FrFT also exhibits these symmetry properties.
