sayu in Old Turkic, büri and tutum ~ dutum in Classical Mongolian mark a nominal declension when attached to the preceding word. This way they express that an action or situation occurs iteratively. However, the function of these units is not mentioned in the literature on the historical variants of Turkic and Mongolian. Furthermore, this declension, common in both languages, is not considered in the nominal classifications. In this study, it has been demonstrated that sayu in Old Turkic, büri and tutum ~ dutum in Classical Mongolian mark similar functions in similar syntactic positions. This reveals the existence of a new nominal declension for both Turkic and Mongolian.
