Ownership and management

Dil Dergisi is published by the Center for Turkish and Foreign Languages (TÖMER) of Ankara University. The journal is not owned by a commercial publisher and publication decisions are taken by the editorial board independently of the management of the Center.

Sources of revenue

All costs of the journal are met by Ankara University. No fees are charged to authors, there is no subscription income and the journal has no sponsor.

Advertising

The journal does not accept advertising. No advertising appears on its pages or in its articles.

Direct marketing

The journal does not send bulk or targeted calls for papers. Communication from the editorial board is limited to the authors of manuscripts under consideration and to invited reviewers.

Editorial board and terms of office

The journal is managed by an Editor in Chief, field editors and an editorial board. Board members are appointed for three year terms. The current board took office on 1 January 2026 and its term ends on 31 December 2028. The names, institutions, countries and ORCID identifiers of board members are published on the journal’s editorial board page.

Publication history

Dil Dergisi has been published since 1988. Its electronic archive on DergiPark covers the issues published from 2004 onwards. Issues from 1988 to 2004 appeared in print and are being added to the electronic archive in stages. The year shown in the DergiPark record therefore marks the beginning of the electronic archive rather than the founding of the journal.

Technical infrastructure and metadata

The journal uses the DergiPark infrastructure operated by TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM. Every article is presented as full text at a single unique address. Each article is assigned a Crossref DOI, and DOI registration and reference deposit are carried out through DergiPark. Article metadata covering author names, affiliations, ORCID identifiers, abstracts, keywords and references are checked and corrected by the editorial board before publication. Metadata supplied to indexing services is transmitted through the same infrastructure.

Access and fees

All content of the journal is free and openly accessible. No charge is made for reading, downloading or distribution, and authors pay no submission, review or publication fee.
