Handling Complaints and Allegations of Research Misconduct
The Endourology Bulletin has a structured process for addressing complaints and allegations of research misconduct before or after publication.
Submitting a Complaint:
Complaints must be submitted directly to the Editor or Publisher via the contact details provided on the journal’s website. The complainant must present supporting evidence for their claim. The subject of the complaint will be given an opportunity to provide a response. The editorial board will conduct a thorough and impartial investigation. Once the review is complete, both parties will be informed of the outcome.
Editorial Actions and Resolutions:
During the evaluation process, the editorial board may take the following actions:
Issue a statement of concern regarding the article.
Request a formal response from the accused author(s).
Engage the author’s affiliated institution if further investigation is warranted.
Temporarily or permanently retract the article, if misconduct is confirmed.
The final decision regarding complaints rests with the Editor, representing the Editorial Board.
The journal adheres to the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines when handling cases related to: Plagiarism and text recycling, Data fabrication or falsification, Undisclosed conflicts of interest, Authorship disputes.
