The Journal of Occupational Therapy and Rehabilitation is published once every 4 months in January, May and September. Submissions concerning all aspects of occupation, occupational therapy, rehabilitation, social participation of people with/or without problems of body structure and functions and sumissions about knowledge, skills and experiences to improve personal and social competence in rehabilitation will be reviewed for publication.
For those who want to send original research, review article, case report, technical note and letter to the editor for publication in the Journal of Occupational Therapy and Rehabilitation, articles can be sent to the "Article Tracking System" at "https://dergipark.org.tr/tr/pub/ered" in which submitters should open an account.
All manuscripts uploaded via the Manuscript Tracking System of the Journal of Occupational Therapy and Rehabilitation are first evaluated by the editor-in-chief in terms of compliance with the writing and publication principles. Manuscripts that are found suitable are admitted to the peer-review process, while those that are found unsuitable are sent back to the author for editing. At the same time, manuscripts that are not suitable for peer-review in terms of publication in the journal can be returned directly to the authors by the editor-in-chief. After the approval of the editor-in-chief, a field editor is appointed to monitor and manage the review processes of the manuscripts. The manuscripts that are transferred to the field editor are sent to the technical editor for technical review. The technical editor guides the authors to make the necessary edits. Applications that pass technical review are sent to two independent reviewers who are experts in their fields. The identities of the appointed reviewers are kept confidential from the authors and from each other, hence the double-blindness is achieved. The maximum time for the reviewers to accept the manuscript sent to them is 15 days, and the period for completing the review after acceptance is also 15 days. A new reviewer is appointed instead of the reviewers who do not accept the evaluation invitation or do not complete the evaluation within 15 days despite accepting it. As a result of their review, the reviewers may propose a minor revision, major revision, direct rejection or direct acceptance decision. In line with the suggestions from the reviewers, the decision about the submission is made by the field editor. Submissions for which an edit (major or minor revision) decision is made must be edited by the authors within 15 days and the process must be completed. After the edit, if there are reviewer(s) who want to see the edited version of the manuscript again, the manuscript is sent to the relevant reviewer(s). If the reviewers did not want to see the edited version of the manuscript again, the decision about the manuscript can be made directly by the field editor. The transfer of the articles accepted with or without edits to the relevant technical editors for language control, reference control and layout, respectively, is provided by the field editor. The language control period is 15 days for articles written in English, and 7 days for all remaining technical control periods.
All edits requested by the editor-in-chief, field editor and technical editors and correspondence with the authors are made through the article page at the address "https://dergipark.org.tr/tr/pub/ered". At the same time, all edit requests and messages sent to the author are automatically notified by the Dergipark system by e-mail. The process from the first decision to the final decision is completed in 2-3 months on average, but this process may take up to 6 months due to the prolongation that may occur in the evaluation and editing processes of the article. The accepted articles as a result of the final decision will be published in early view as soon as possible.
