The aim of peer review process is to ensure that high quality and original scientific studies are published. All published articles in Erzincan University Journal of Science and Technology are peer reviewed and all manuscripts submitted follows the procedure outlined below.
Manuscript Pre-evaluation
All articles sent to the journal for publication are evaluated primarily by the Editor and Editorial Board in terms of whether the submitted article meets the purpose and scope of the journal, or whether it meets the requirements of a scientific study. Then, the articles submitted to the journal are checked with the Ithenticate program (Alternatively, Intihal.net) and the obtained originality reports are examined. The, studies that do not meet the requirement that the similarity report of the studies submitted to our journal should be less than 30% in total and not more than 5% from a single source will not be considered. Manuscripts may be rejected at this stage if they are not suitable, or some revisions may be requested.
Policy of Peer Review
After initial evaluation, the manuscripts are sent to at least two referees which are determined editor and/or editorial board. If necessary, the number of referees can be increased by editor or Editorial Board. The referees are chosen from referee board according to their expertise. Referees are asked to evaluate the manuscript’s originality, methodology, contribution to the literature, presentation of results and support for the conclusions, and appropriate referencing of previous relevant studies. Referees might accept the manuscript, reject the manuscript or might require a revision for style and/or content. For publication of articles, two positive reports are required. When a revision is required by the referee or referees, the author(s) are to consider the criticism and suggestions offered by the referees, and they should be sent back the revised version of manuscript and response to reviewers comments file in 30 days. If revised manuscript is not sent in one months, the manuscript is directly rejected. Referees may request more than one revision of a manuscript. After review process, final decision is given by Editorial Board.
