Researchers submitting their work to our journal must prepare their studies in accordance with internationally recognized ethical principles. At this point, while all scientific, ethical, and legal responsibility for the submitted work lies with the authors, the Editorial Board may request an ethics committee approval document when necessary. Studies that are not deemed in compliance with research and publication ethics by the Editorial Board will not be considered for evaluation.
Author name and address: Since manuscripts are forwarded to reviewers directly through the system (without any modification of the files uploaded by the authors), no identifying information about the author(s) should appear in order to maintain author–reviewer confidentiality. Therefore, neither within the manuscript text nor in the file name should the author’s name(s) be included.
Manuscript text: Submissions to Frontiers in Health must be prepared in accordance with the journal’s author guidelines. Click here for the Manuscript Template.
Frontiers in Health is a peer-reviewed, open-access health sciences journal published by Erzurum Technical University. The journal accepts articles written in both Turkish and English. All manuscripts submitted for publication must be prepared in accordance with the following international standards and ethical principles:
• ICMJE (International Committee of Medical Journal Editors) Recommendations: The most recent ICMJE recommendations for the conduct, reporting, editing, and publication of scholarly work should be followed.
• APA (American Psychological Association) Publication Manual: All manuscripts, including in-text citations and references, must conform to APA 7th Edition (2020) format.
Manuscript submission is carried out exclusively through the journal’s Dergipark online system. Submissions made via other channels will not be considered.
Manuscript Submission and Ethical Considerations
• Submitted manuscripts must not have been previously published or be under consideration elsewhere. Papers presented at conferences may be submitted provided that the conference name, date, and venue are clearly indicated.
• For studies requiring Ethics Committee Approval (e.g., clinical trials, surveys, experimental animal studies), the official approval document must be uploaded.
• For studies involving human participants, informed consent must be obtained and stated in the methods section.
• All authors must meet the authorship criteria defined by ICMJE.
• Sources of funding and institutional support must be clearly acknowledged.
Required Documents
During submission, the following documents must be uploaded to the system:
• Copyright Transfer Agreement: Signed by all authors.
• ICMJE Conflict of Interest Form: Completed in full by all contributing authors.
• Plagiarism Report: Manuscripts must be screened using Turnitin or a similar software. The similarity index (excluding references, author names, and acknowledgments) must be below 20%.
• Ethics Committee Approval: Required for relevant studies (clinical trials, surveys, experimental animal research, etc.).
• Title Page: Prepared separately from the main text to ensure double-blind peer review.
Ethical Standards
• Human Studies: Research must be conducted in accordance with the principles of the Declaration of Helsinki. Ethics committee approval must be obtained, and the approval date and number should be indicated in the "Materials and Methods" section. Informed consent from participants must also be stated. For case reports, informed consent must be explicitly mentioned.
• Animal Studies: Experimental animal studies require approval from the relevant local ethics committee. Compliance with the ARRIVE guidelines should be indicated.
• Double-Blind Peer Review: During the review process, the names of ethics committees and institutions must not be disclosed in the main text. Placeholder terms such as “XXXX” should be used. These details will be included in the final version after acceptance.
