Dr. İrfan Doğan is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Finance and Banking at the Gerede Faculty of Applied Sciences, Bolu Abant İzzet Baysal University, where he also serves as Vice Chair of the Department. He received his bachelor's degree from Giresun University, his master's degree from Bolu Abant İzzet Baysal University, and his Ph.D. in Banking from Ankara Hacı Bayram Veli University.

His academic research focuses on finance, banking, participation finance (Islamic finance), participation Banking, financial management, capital markets, financial literacy, financial technologies (FinTech), blockchain technology, crypto assets, and sustainable finance. He has published articles in national and international peer-reviewed journals, presented papers at international scientific conferences, and contributed numerous book chapters in the fields of banking and finance. In addition to his teaching and research activities, he serves in editorial roles for academic journals and actively participates in the peer-review process. His research adopts an interdisciplinary perspective while addressing contemporary developments in the finance and banking sectors.
