THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE FINANCIAL PERFORMANCE INDICATORS OF PARTICIPATION BANKS AND MACROECONOMIC FACTORS

Year 2024, Volume: 9 Issue: 4, 355 - 363
https://doi.org/10.29106/fesa.1531022

Abstract

The change in macroeconomic indicators can affect the financial performance of participation banks. Therefore, participation banks must develop strategies considering the changing economic conditions to maintain, increase, and sustain their assets and profitability in a competitive environment. This study examines the relationship between the financial performance indicators of participation banks operating in Turkey and macroeconomic factors. Quantitative analysis methods, including variance, correlation, and regression analyses, were conducted using data from 2008-2022. The study found no relationship between Gross Domestic Product and the performance indicators of participation banks. However, inflation was observed to impact the Return on Equity, Return on Assets, and Capital Adequacy Ratio. The findings indicate that the financial performance indicators of participation banks in Turkey are associated with inflation. This study aims to understand the impact of macroeconomic conditions on the financial performance of participation banks and to contribute to the strengthening of the banking sector and the growth of the national economy

KATILIM BANKALARININ FİNANSAL PERFORMANS GÖSTERGELERİ İLE MAKROEKONOMİK FAKTÖRLER ARASINDAKİ İLİŞKİ

Year 2024, Volume: 9 Issue: 4, 355 - 363
https://doi.org/10.29106/fesa.1531022
