Cell structure and functions as well as some abstract concepts related to teaching and learning during the difficulties we have encountered. The purpose of this research is to study effect of concept maps on students’ achievement in teaching of cell and organelles. Post-test quasi experimental design with control group was utilized. The experimental group was taught by concept maps and the control group was taught by traditional method. Two classes of thirty students from ninth graders participated in this study. According to findings, there is different significantly when these teaching methods were compared. As a result, it is more useful teaching with a concept map. Therefore, strongly recommend that teachers explore the use of concept maps in the teaching of biology and other contexts in an effort to improve students' understanding.
