Üniversitelerin Sıralanma Ölçütleri ve Türkiye Üniversiteleri için Öneriler

Abstract

Bu araştırmanın temel amacı, dünya genelinde üniversiteleri sıralayan kuruluşların sıralama ölçütlerinde tercih ettikleri göstergelerin bütüncül olarak incelenmesi ve Türkiye’deki üniversiteler için öneriler geliştirilmesidir. Araştırma, nitel desende bir durum çalışmasıdır. Araştırmanın verileri, dünya genelinde üniversite sıralaması yapan toplam on kuruluştan elde edilmiştir. Elde edilen bu veriler, doküman analizi ile çözümlenmiştir. Verilerin analizi sonucunda, üniversite sıralamalarında kullanılan ölçütler ve toplam puanı hesaplamadaki oranlarının benzerlik ve farklılıklar taşıdığı ortaya çıkmıştır. Kullanılan yöntem ve ölçütler açısından üniversite sıralama kuruluşları, ilgili araştırmalarda bazı yönleriyle eleştirilmiştir. Araştırmada ayrıca, üniversiteleri sıralayan kuruluşlar açısından sıralamaların saydam ve nesnel bir şekilde yapılması gerektiği; üniversiteler açısından ise bu sıralamaların üniversiteleri geliştirecek yönde kullanılabileceği belirlenmiştir. Son olarak, dünya genelinde üniversite sıralamalarında kullanılan ölçütler göz önünde bulundurularak Türkiye’deki üniversiteler için bazı öneriler geliştirilmiştir

The Indicators of University Rankings and Recommendations for the Universities in Turkey

Abstract

The main purpose of the research is to examine holistically the indicators that the university ranking institutions in the world have preferred in terms of the ranking criteria and to develop recommendations for the universities in Turkey. This is a case study in qualitative design. The data of the study have been obtained from ten institutions that have ranked universities worldwide. The data have been analyzed with document analysis technique. As a result of the analysis of the data, it has been determined that the ratios used in the university rankings and calculating the total score have similarities and differences. In terms of the methods and criteria, university ranking institutions are criticized in some respects in related researches. In addition it is necessary to rank universities transparently and objectively for the university ranking institutions. In terms of universities, it can be stated that these rankings can be used to develop universities. Finally, some recommendations for the universities in Turkey have been developed by considering the criteria and indicators used in university rankings around the world
