A CLASS OF RATIO-CUM-PRODUCT TYPE ESTIMATORS UNDER DOUBLE SAMPLING IN THE PRESENCE OF NON-RESPONSE

Abstract

In the present paper, we have proposed a class of ratio – type estimators for estimating the population mean Y¯ of the study variate y under double sampling in the presence of non-response, where information on the auxiliary variable is not known. For an appropriate weight a and a good range of α values, it is found that the proposed class of estimators is more efficient than some estimators which are obtained by applying congenial values of a and α. Comparison of the proposed class of estimators with other estimators is also worked out. Also the good range of α is obtained empirically for different values of a and k.
