ÖZEL OKULLAR İÇİN FEN BİLİMLERİ ÖĞRETMENİ İSTİHDAM EDİLEBİLİRLİK ÖLÇEĞİ: MESLEKİ, İŞE ALMA VE İŞTE KALMA YETERLİLİKLERİNİN ÇOK BOYUTLU ÖLÇÜMÜ

Abstract

Bu çalışmada, fen bilimleri öğretmenlerinin özel sektördeki istihdam edilebilirlik düzeylerini değerlendirmek üzere tasarlanmış bir psikometrik araç olan Özel Okullar İçin Fen Bilimleri Öğretmeni İstihdam Edilebilirlik Ölçeği'nin geliştirilmesi ve geçerliliğinin belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Çalışmada nicel araştırma paradigması benimsenerek tarama yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Açımlayıcı Faktör Analizi (AFA) için ilk geliştirme aşamasında, rastgele örnekleme yoluyla seçilen 360 gönüllü fen bilimleri öğretmeni ve öğretmen adayından oluşan bir örneklem yer almıştır. Doğrulayıcı Faktör Analizi (DFA) için ise 200 fen bilimleri öğretmeni ve öğretmen adayından oluşan bir sonraki örneklem katılım göstermiştir. İlk veri toplama aracı 56 maddelik bir yeterlik belirleme ölçeğidir. Ölçeğin geçerliliğini tesis etmek amacıyla kapsamlı içerik, görünüş ve yapı geçerliliği değerlendirmeleri yapılmıştır. İçerik ve görünüş geçerliliğini doğrulamada uzman görüşleri temel alınırken, yapı geçerliliğini titizlikle incelemek için hem AFA hem de DFA gerçekleştirilmiştir. Ölçeğin güvenirliği Cronbach alfa ve kompozit güvenirlik katsayıları hesaplanarak belirlenmiştir. AFA sonucunda on üç madde çıkarılarak ölçek için üç faktörlü bir yapı elde edilmiş ve bu yapı daha sonra DFA ile doğrulanmıştır. DFA sonuçları 0,08'lik bir Yaklaşık Hata Kareler Ortalaması (RMSEA), 0,96'lık bir İyilik Uyum İndeksi (GFI), 0,98'lik bir Karşılaştırmalı Uyum İndeksi (CFI) ve 0,98'lik bir Artımlı Uyum İndeksi (IFI) ile kabul edilebilir bir model uyumuna işaret etmiştir. Nihai ölçek için genel Cronbach alfa katsayısı yüksek bir değer olan 0,97 olarak bulunmuş, her bir alt boyut için kompozit güvenirlik katsayıları ise 0,70 eşiğine yaklaşmış veya bu değeri aşmıştır. Sonuç olarak bu araştırma, özel okul ortamlarında fen bilimleri öğretmenlerinin istihdam edilebilirliğini değerlendirmek için güçlü geçerlilik ve güvenilirlik kanıtları sunan 33 maddelik, üç boyutlu bir ölçeği başarıyla geliştirmiştir. Bu araç işe alım, mesleki gelişim ve öğretmen eğitimi ile istihdamı alanındaki araştırmalar için değerli bir kaynak sunmaktadır.

The science teacher employability scale for private schools: A multidimensional measure of professional, hiring, and retention competencies

Abstract

This study aimed to develop and validate the Science Teacher Employability Scale for Private Schools, a psychometric instrument designed to assess the employability levels of science teachers in the private sector. The study adopted a quantitative research paradigm and utilized a survey method. For the Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) during the initial development phase, the sample comprised 360 volunteer science teachers and pre-service teachers selected through random sampling. A subsequent sample of 200 science teachers and pre-service teachers participated in the Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA). The initial data collection instrument was a 56-item competency scale. To establish the scale's validity, comprehensive content, face, and construct validity assessments were conducted. Expert opinions were sought to confirm content and face validity, while both EFA and CFA were performed to rigorously examine construct validity. The scale's reliability was determined by calculating Cronbach's Alpha and composite reliability coefficients. As a result of the EFA, 23 items were removed, yielding a three-factor structure for the scale, which was subsequently confirmed by the CFA. The CFA results indicated an acceptable model fit, with a Root Mean Square Error of Approximation (RMSEA) of 0.08, a Goodness of Fit Index (GFI) of 0.96, a Comparative Fit Index (CFI) of 0.98, and an Incremental Fit Index (IFI) of 0.98. The overall Cronbach's Alpha coefficient for the final scale was a high 0.97, and the composite reliability coefficients for each sub-dimension approached or exceeded the 0.70 threshold. Consequently, this research has successfully developed a 33-item, three-dimensional scale that provides robust evidence of validity and reliability for assessing the employability of science teachers in private school settings. This instrument offers a valuable resource for recruitment, professional development, and research in the fields of teacher education and employment.
