Review

International Journal of Innovative Engineering Applications is an international open access, peer reviewed journal with the primary goal to provide a high-level platform where academic achievements of great importance in engineering science and technology can be disseminated and shared. Proceeding from scientific discoveries, the research achievements disseminated by this journal should be convertible through innovation into a new productive force so as to promote the development of world-class industries and engineering projects of important socio-economic significance.

We are interested in:

1. News & Focus— Global perspectives, news focus, and updates on central issues;

2. Views & Comments— Expository and heuristic comments and reviews on major issues, articles, and events;

3. Research — Outstanding research results, in the form of research articles, reviews, perspectives, short communications regarding critical issues, and so on.

Manuscripts must be prepared in English, and are subject to a rigorous and fair peer-review process. Accepted papers will immediately appear online, followed by a printed. The journal publishes original papers including but not limited to the following fields:

Manuscript Submission

Submission of a manuscript implies: that the work described has not been published before; that it is not under consideration for publication anywhere else; that its publication has been approved by all co-authors, if any, as well as by the responsible authorities – tacitly or explicitly – at the institute where the work has been carried out. The publisher will not be held legally responsible should there be any claims for compensation.

Permissions

Authors wishing to include figures, tables, or text passages that have already been published elsewhere are required to obtain permission from the copyright owner(s) for both the print and online format and to include evidence that such permission has been granted when submitting their papers. Any material received without such evidence will be assumed to originate from the authors.

Please ensure you provide all relevant editable source files. Failing to submit these source files might cause unnecessary delays in the review and production process.

Title Page

Please use this template for providing the following information.
The title page should include:
• The name(s) of the author(s)
• A concise and informative title
• The affiliation(s) of the author(s), i.e. institution, (department), city, (state), country
• Active e-mail address of the corresponding author
• 16-digit ORCID of the author(s)

Abstract

Please provide an abstract of 150 to 300 words. The abstract should not contain any undefined abbreviations or unspecified references.

Keywords

Please provide 4 to 6 keywords which can be used for indexing purposes. Keywords should be in alphabetical order.

Declarations

All manuscripts must contain the following sections under the heading 'Declarations'.

  • Funding (information that explains whether and by whom the research was supported)
  • Conflicts of interest/Competing interests 
  • Ethics approval 
  • Consent to participate 
  • Consent for publication 
  • Availability of data and material 
  • Code availability (software application or custom code)
  • Authors' contributions (optional: please review the submission guidelines from the journal whether statements are mandatory)

Text Formatting

Manuscripts should be submitted in Word.
• Use a normal, plain font (e.g., 10-point Times Roman) for text.
• Use italics for emphasis.
• Use the automatic page numbering function to number the pages.
• Do not use field functions.
• Use tab stops or other commands for indents, not the space bar.
• Use the table function, not spreadsheets, to make tables.
• Use the equation editor or MathType for equations.
• Save your file in docx format (Word 2007 or higher) or doc format (older Word versions).

Headings

Please use no more than three levels of displayed headings.

Abbreviations

Abbreviations should be defined at first mention and used consistently thereafter.

Footnotes

Footnotes can be used to give additional information, which may include the citation of a reference included in the reference list. They should not consist solely of a reference citation, and they should never include the bibliographic details of a reference. They should also not contain any figures or tables.
Footnotes to the text are numbered consecutively; those to tables should be indicated by superscript lower-case letters (or asterisks for significance values and other statistical data). Footnotes to the title or the authors of the article are not given reference symbols.
Always use footnotes instead of endnotes.

Acknowledgments

Acknowledgments of people, grants, funds, etc. should be placed in a separate section on the title page. The names of funding organizations should be written in full.

Scientific style

  • Generic names of drugs and pesticides are preferred; if trade names are used, the generic name should be given at first mention.
  • Please use the standard mathematical notation for formulae, symbols etc.:Italic for single letters that denote mathematical constants, variables, and unknown quantities Roman/upright for numerals, operators, and punctuation, and commonly defined functions or abbreviations, e.g., cos, det, e or exp, lim, log, max, min, sin, tan, d (for derivative) Bold for vectors, tensors, and matrices.
  • Signs and symbols: Please, always use internationally accepted signs and symbols for units, SI units and give all dimensions according to the standard style of the Journal. Example: °C min-1, or g cm-3. The power after the dimensions should be put into superscript.
  • Figure axes and Table headings: Please, give all Figure axes and Table headings according to the standards of our Journal. Example: Temperature/K, Heat flow/mW or Heat capacity/J g-1K-1.

References

Citation

Reference citations in the text should be identified by numbers in square brackets. Some examples:

1. Generally, the installation of horizontal GHEs begins at a depth of 1.5 m [1] .
2. Go et al. [12] made optimum design development on horizontal spiral GHE.
3. This effect has been widely studied [1-3, 7].

Reference list

The list of references should only include works that are cited in the text and that have been published or accepted for publication. Personal communications and unpublished works should only be mentioned in the text. Do not use footnotes or endnotes as a substitute for a reference list.

The entries in the list should be numbered consecutively.

Electronic Figure Submission

• Supply all figures electronically.
• Indicate what graphics program was used to create the artwork.
• For vector graphics, the preferred format is EPS; for halftones, please use TIFF format. MSOffice files are also acceptable.
• Vector graphics containing fonts must have the fonts embedded in the files.
• Name your figure files with "Fig" and the figure number, e.g., Fig1.eps.

Line Art

• Definition: Black and white graphic with no shading.
• Do not use faint lines and/or lettering and check that all lines and lettering within the figures are legible at final size.
• All lines should be at least 0.1 mm (0.3 pt) wide.
• Scanned line drawings and line drawings in bitmap format should have a minimum resolution of 1200 dpi.
• Vector graphics containing fonts must have the fonts embedded in the files.

Halftone Art

• Definition: Photographs, drawings, or paintings with fine shading, etc.
• If any magnification is used in the photographs, indicate this by using scale bars within the figures themselves.
• Halftones should have a minimum resolution of 300 dpi.

Figure Lettering

• To add lettering, it is best to use Times New Roman.
• Keep lettering consistently sized throughout your final-sized artwork, usually about 2–3 mm (8pt).
• Variance of type size within an illustration should be minimal, e.g., do not use 8-pt type on an axis and 20-pt type for the axis label.
• Avoid effects such as shading, outline letters, etc.
• Do not include titles or captions within your illustrations.

Figure Numbering

• All figures are to be numbered using Arabic numerals.
• Figures should always be cited in text in consecutive numerical order.
• Figure parts should be denoted by lowercase letters (a, b, c, etc.).
• If an appendix appears in your article and it contains one or more figures, continue the consecutive numbering of the main text. Do not number the appendix figures,"A1, A2, A3, etc." Figures in online appendices [Supplementary Information (SI)] should, however, be numbered separately.

Figure Captions

• Each figure should have a concise caption describing accurately what the figure depicts. Include the captions in the text file of the manuscript, not in the figure file.
• Figure captions begin with the term Fig. in bold type, followed by the figure number, also in bold type.
• No punctuation is to be included after the number, nor is any punctuation to be placed at the end of the caption.
• Identify all elements found in the figure in the figure caption; and use boxes, circles, etc., as coordinate points in graphs.
• Identify previously published material by giving the original source in the form of a reference citation at the end of the figure caption.

Figure Placement and Size

• Figures should be submitted separately from the text, if possible.
• When preparing your figures, size figures to fit in the column width.
• For large-sized journals the figures should be 84 mm (for double-column text areas), or 174 mm (for single-column text areas) wide and not higher than 234 mm.
• For small-sized journals, the figures should be 119 mm wide and not higher than 195 mm.

Permissions

If you include figures that have already been published elsewhere, you must obtain permission from the copyright owner(s) for both the print and online format. Please be aware that some publishers do not grant electronic rights for free and that IJIEA will not be able to refund any costs that may have occurred to receive these permissions. In such cases, material from other sources should be used.

Tables

• All tables are to be numbered using Arabic numerals.
• Tables should always be cited in text in consecutive numerical order.
• For each table, please supply a table caption (title) explaining the components of the table.
• Identify any previously published material by giving the original source in the form of a reference at the end of the table caption.
• Footnotes to tables should be indicated by superscript lower-case letters (or asterisks for significance values and other statistical data) and included beneath the table body.


Important note: You must upload all of the following files to the system during the manuscript submission stage to our journal:

  • Ethics committee approval (If ethics committee approval is required for your manuscript, you must upload your manuscript with the document of ethics committee approval. If it is not required, please state it in a section of your manuscript.

*Similarity report is mandatory for all articles evaluated for publication in International Journal of Innovative Engineering Applications as of 01.12.2020.

International Journal of Innovative Engineering Applications wants author(s) to check the entire text of each article sent to the journal except the references section with the "iThenticate®" program and upload the scanned article in this program to "Similarity Reports" field found in the "Article Metadata" tab in the system together with the similarity report. Also, it is requested that the similarity report rate be stated before the references section in the article.

The similarity rate determined by the Editorial Board is maximum 20% for research articles, 30% for review articles, and even within these limits, the similarity rate in a single source is at most 5%. Articles with similarity rates above the specified values will not be evaluated.

International Journal of Innovative Engineering Applications (IJIEA) is committed to maintaining standards through a rigorous peer-review together with ethical policies. Any infringements of professional scientific ethical codes, such as plagiarism, fabrication and falsification of data, should be taken very seriously by the editors with no tolerance.

The ethical principles for the participants of the publication process in International Journal of Innovative Engineering Applications (IJIEA) are developed in compliance with the Code of Conduct of the Committee on Publication Ethics – COPE, and the Code on Publication Ethics. Double blind peer review and selection of papers is limited to only those that fall within the research fields included in the scope of the journal.

It is therefore crucially important for everyone involved in the publication process (author, editor, reviewer, and publisher) to develop and to agree to certain ethics principles. Below are the ethics principles established and followed by International Journal of Innovative Engineering Applications (IJIEA) Editorial Board.


Ethical Responsibilities of Authors

Authors should refrain from misrepresenting research results which could damage the trust in the journal, the professionalism of scientific authorship, and ultimately the entire scientific endeavour. Maintaining integrity of the research and its presentation is helped by following the rules of good scientific practice, which include*:

  • The manuscript should not be submitted to more than one journal for simultaneous consideration.
  • The submitted work should be original and should not have been published elsewhere in any form or language (partially or in full), unless the new work concerns an expansion of previous work. (Please provide transparency on the re-use of material to avoid the concerns about text-recycling (‘self-plagiarism’).
  • A single study should not be split up into several parts to increase the quantity of submissions and submitted to various journals or to one journal over time (i.e. ‘salami-slicing/publishing’).
  • Concurrent or secondary publication is sometimes justifiable, provided certain conditions are met. Examples include: translations or a manuscript that is intended for a different group of readers.
  • Results should be presented clearly, honestly, and without fabrication, falsification or inappropriate data manipulation (including image based manipulation). Authors should adhere to discipline-specific rules for acquiring, selecting and processing data.
  • No data, text, or theories by others are presented as if they were the author’s own (‘plagiarism’). Proper acknowledgements to other works must be given (this includes material that is closely copied (near verbatim), summarized and/or paraphrased), quotation marks (to indicate words taken from another source) are used for verbatim copying of material, and permissions secured for material that is copyrighted.


Important note: The journal does not accept manuscripts without scanning for plagiarism.

  • Authors should make sure they have permissions for the use of software, questionnaires/(web) surveys and scales in their studies (if appropriate).
  • Research articles and non-research articles (e.g. Opinion, Review, and Commentary articles) must cite appropriate and relevant literature in support of the claims made. Excessive and inappropriate self-citation or coordinated efforts among several authors to collectively self-cite is strongly discouraged.
  • Authors should avoid untrue statements about an entity (who can be an individual person or a company) or descriptions of their behavior or actions that could potentially be seen as personal attacks or allegations about that person.
  • Research that may be misapplied to pose a threat to public health or national security should be clearly identified in the manuscript (e.g. dual use of research). Examples include creation of harmful consequences of biological agents or toxins, disruption of immunity of vaccines, unusual hazards in the use of chemicals, weaponization of research/technology (amongst others).
  • Authors are strongly advised to ensure the author group, the Corresponding Author, and the order of authors are all correct at submission. Adding and/or deleting authors during the revision stages is generally not permitted, but in some cases may be warranted. Reasons for changes in authorship should be explained in detail. Please note that changes to authorship cannot be made after acceptance of a manuscript.

*All of the above are guidelines and authors need to make sure to respect third parties rights such as copyright and/or moral rights.

Upon request authors should be prepared to send relevant documentation or data in order to verify the validity of the results presented. This could be in the form of raw data, samples, records, etc. Sensitive information in the form of confidential or proprietary data is excluded.

If there is suspicion of misbehavior or alleged fraud the Journal and/or Publisher will carry out an investigation following COPE guidelines. If, after investigation, there are valid concerns, the author(s) concerned will be contacted under their given e-mail address and given an opportunity to address the issue. Depending on the situation, this may result in the Journal’s and/or Publisher’s implementation of the following measures, including, but not limited to:

If the manuscript is still under consideration, it may be rejected and returned to the author.
If the article has already been published online, depending on the nature and severity of the infraction:

  • an erratum/correction may be placed with the article
  • an expression of concern may be placed with the article
  •  or in severe cases retraction of the article may occur.

The reason will be given in the published erratum/correction, expression of concern or retraction note. Please note that retraction means that the article is maintained on the platform, watermarked “retracted” and the explanation for the retraction is provided in a note linked to the watermarked article.

The author’s institution may be informed
A notice of suspected transgression of ethical standards in the peer review system may be included as part of the author’s and article’s bibliographic record.

Fundamental errors

Authors have an obligation to correct mistakes once they discover a significant error or inaccuracy in their published article. The author(s) is/are requested to contact the journal and explain in what sense the error is impacting the article. A decision on how to correct the literature will depend on the nature of the error. This may be a correction or retraction. The retraction note should provide transparency which parts of the article are impacted by the error.

Suggesting / excluding reviewers

Authors are welcome to suggest suitable reviewers and/or request the exclusion of certain individuals when they submit their manuscripts. When suggesting reviewers, authors should make sure they are totally independent and not connected to the work in any way. It is strongly recommended to suggest a mix of reviewers from different countries and different institutions. When suggesting reviewers, the Corresponding Author must provide an institutional email address for each suggested reviewer, or, if this is not possible to include other means of verifying the identity such as a link to a personal homepage, a link to the publication record or a researcher or author ID in the submission letter. Please note that the Journal may not use the suggestions, but suggestions are appreciated and may help facilitate the peer review process.

Ethical Responsibilities of Editors

  • The editor of IJIEA journal is solely and independently responsible for deciding which of the articles submitted to the journal should be published, The validation of the work in question and its importance to researchers and readers must always underwrite such decisions. COPE Codes of Conduct).
  • The editor shall ensure that the blind peer review process is fair, unbiased, and timely. Research articles must typically be reviewed by at least two external and independent reviewers, and where necessary the editor should seek additional opinions.
  • The editor shall select reviewers who have suitable expertise in the relevant field, taking account of the need for appropriate, inclusive and diverse representation.  
  • The editor should evaluate manuscripts for their intellectual content without regard to race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy of the authors. 
  • The editor shall use the journal’s standard electronic submission system for all journal communications.
  • The editor shall establish, along with the publisher, a transparent mechanism for appeal against editorial decisions.
  • The editor must protect the confidentiality of all material submitted to the journal and all communications with reviewers, unless otherwise agreed with the relevant authors and reviewers. In exceptional circumstances and in consultation with the publisher, the editor may share limited information with editors of other journals where deemed necessary to investigate suspected research misconduct  (COPE Guidelines on Editor Chief Sharing)
  • Unpublished materials disclosed in a submitted manuscript must not be used in an editor's own research without the express written consent of the author. Privileged information or ideas obtained through peer review must be kept confidential and not used for personal advantage.
  • Any potential editorial conflicts of interest should be declared to the publisher in writing prior to the appointment of the editor, and then updated if and when new conflicts arise. 
  • The editor should work to safeguard the integrity of the published record by reviewing and assessing reported or suspected misconduct (research, publication, reviewer and editorial), in conjunction with the publisher.
  • Such measures will generally include contacting the author of the manuscript or paper and giving due consideration to the respective complaint or claims made, but may also include further communications to the relevant institutions and research bodies.
  • The editor shall further make appropriate use of the publisher’s systems for the detection of misconduct, such as plagiarism.

Ethical Responsibilities of Reviewers

  • Peer review assists the editor in making editorial decisions and through the editorial communications with the author may also assist the author in improving the paper.
  • Reviewers are asked generally to treat authors and their work as they would like to be treated themselves and to observe good reviewing etiquette.
  • Any selected referee who feels unqualified to review the research reported in a manuscript or knows that its prompt review will be impossible should notify the editor and decline to participate in the review process.
  • Any manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents. Reviewers must not share the review or information about the paper with anyone or contact the authors directly without permission from the editor.
  • Unpublished materials disclosed in a submitted manuscript must not be used in a reviewer’s own research without the express written consent of the author.
  • Privileged information or ideas obtained through peer review must be kept confidential and not used for personal advantage.
  • A reviewer should be alert to potential ethical issues in the paper and should bring these to the attention of the editor, including any substantial similarity or overlap between the manuscript under consideration and any other published paper of which the reviewer has personal knowledge.
  • Reviews should be conducted objectively. Reviewers should be aware of any personal bias they may have and take this into account when reviewing a paper.
    Personal criticism of the author is inappropriate. Referees should express their views clearly with supporting arguments.
  • Reviewers should consult the Editor before agreeing to review a paper where they have potential conflicts of interest resulting from competitive, collaborative, or other relationships or connections with any of the authors, companies, or institutions connected to the papers.
  • If a reviewer suggests that an author includes citations to the reviewer’s (or their associates’) work, this must be for genuine scientific reasons and not with the intention of increasing the reviewer’s citation count or enhancing the visibility of their work (or that of their associates).

Ethical Responsibilities of Publisher

  • Declares that the article evaluation process is under the responsibility of the editor.
  • Declares that editor decisions are independent.
  • Uses the power of communication without any interest.
  • Obliged to direct its target group correctly.
  • Provides open, electronic and free access to the journal on the journal page.
  • Protects the property and copyright of every published article.
  • Undertakes the archiving of every published article.
  • Communicates with the author(s) if encounter an unethical problem.

Peer Review Policy

International Journal of Innovative Engineering Applications (IJIEA), applies double blind peer-review process in which both the reviewer and the author are anonymous. Reviewer selection for each submitted article is up to editors, and reviewers are selected based on the reviewer’s expertise, competence, and previous experience in reviewing papers for IJIEA.

Every submitted article is evaluated by editor, at least, for an initial review. If the paper reaches minimum quality criteria, fulfills the aims, scope and policies of IJIEA, it is sent to at least two reviewers for evaluation.

The reviewers evaluate the paper according to the Review guidelines set by editorial board members and return it to the area editor, who conveys the reviewers' anonymous comments back to the author. Anonymity is strictly maintained.

The double blind peer-review process is managed using Dergipark platform.

Open Access Policy

IJIEA provides immediate open access for all users to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public, supporting a greater global exchange of knowledge.

Archiving Policy

IJIEA is accessed by Dergipark platform which utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration.

Editor-Author Relationship

The editor accepts or rejects the article, taking into account the aims and objectives of the journal according to the originality, validity and clarity of expression. The editor evaluates the article suitable for the content of the journal as long as it has no serious problems. The newly appointed editor does not change the decision made by the previous editor for the article, unless there is a serious problem. “Blind Peer Review” and “Evaluation Process” is applied by the editor for each article. The editor publishes the Author's Guide to be used by the author(s) in preparing an article. The editor provides notification and feedback to the author(s) when necessary.

Editor-Reviewer Relationship

The editor sends article for the reviewer to evaluate according to his profession. The editor provides the information and guidance the reviewer needs in the evaluation process. The editor oversees whether there is a conflict of interest between the author(s) and the reviewer. Editor protects the reviewer's personal information through Blind Peer Review process. The editor encourages the reviewer to evaluate the work in an impartial, scientific and appropriate language. Editor appraise the reviewer according to performance and timely turnaround. The editor sets policies and practices to improve the reviewer's performance. The editor constantly updates and expands the reviewer pool.

Editor-Editorial Board Relationship

The editor informs the editorial board member about the ethical principles and publishing policy and keeps them informed of the developments. The editor asks the editorial board member to progress the article evaluation process in accordance with ethical principles and publication policy. The editor asks the editorial board member to evaluate the article impartially and independently. The editor appoints a new contributing and suitably qualified editorial board member. The editor sends an article for the editorial board member to evaluate according to his field of expertise. The editor regularly interacts with the editorial board. The editor organizes meetings with the editorial board periodically for the development of the journal.

Editor-Journal Owner-Publisher Relationship

The relationship between editor, journal owner and publisher is based on the principle of editorial independence. In accordance with the contract between the editor and the publisher, all decisions taken by the editor are independent of the publisher and the journal owner.

Quality Assurance

The editor ensures that every article published in the journal meets international standards in accordance with the journal's ethical principles and publication policy.

Protection of Personal Data

The editor protects the personal data of the subjects or images in the articles and refuses to work unless the explicit consent of the individuals used in the article is documented. It protects the personal data of the editor, author, reviewer and readers.

Ethics Committee, Human and Animal Right

The editor ensures the protection of human and animal rights in the articles and rejects the article when there is no ethical committee approval for the subjects used in the article and permissions for experimental studies.

Precautions against Misappropriation and Misconduct

The editor takes precautions against the possibility of misconduct and misconduct. Conducts a meticulous and objective investigation and shares findings in case of such complaints.

Academic Publication Integrity

The editor ensures that the errors, inconsistencies or misdirections in the article are quickly corrected.

Protection of Intellectual Property Rights

The editor protects the intellectual property rights of all published articles and defends the rights of the journal and the author(s) in possible violations. The editor takes the necessary precautions to ensure that the content in all published articles does not violate the intellectual property rights of other publications and requests a similarity report from the author(s) for each article uploaded to the system.

Constructiveness and Openness to Discussion

The editor considers persuasive criticism of each article published in the journal and takes a constructive attitude towards criticism. The editor gives the author(s) the right to reply to the criticized article.

Author, Reviewer and Reader Complaints

Editor takes into consideration the complaints and criticisms from the author, reviewer and reader. Gives enlightening and explanatory answers by examining the complaints and criticisms.

Political and Business Concerns

Editor's decision is independent of the journal owner, publisher, and other political and commercial factors.

Publication Policy

Articles uploaded to the International Journal of Innovative Engineering Applications (IJIEA) system are published after being subjected to impartial processes in accordance with the publication policy. One of the most important principles of IJIEA is the compliance of the stakeholders involved in impartial processes with the publication policy. IJIEA publishes using the DergiPark system and processes related with articles are carried out through the DergiPark system.

Publication Language

The International Journal of Innovative Engineering Applications (IJIEA) publishes articles written in Turkish and English. However, an English abstract should be provided for Turkish manuscript. As of January 1, 2023, only publications in English will be accepted to International Journal of Innovative Engineering Applications.

Publication Frequency

The International Journal of Innovative Engineering Applications (IJIEA) is published "online" twice a year in June and December. If the Editorial Board deems appropriate, a Special Issue can also be published.

Fee Policy

All articles accepted to the International Journal of Innovative Engineering Applications (IJIEA) are published without charge for article submission, evaluation or printing. As of January 1, 2023, a fee of “50 €” will be charged for each article submission in order to cover publication expenses. This fee is requested after the article is checked for compliance with the scope of the journal, regardless of the acceptance or rejection condition.

Personal information entered into the International Journal of Innovative Engineering Applications (IJIEA) site is used only for the specified purposes of this journal, cannot be used or shared for other purposes.


This journal is committed to upholding the integrity of the scientific record and the journal will follow the COPE guidelines on how to deal with potential acts of misconduct.


Submission Declaration 


International Journal of Innovative Engineering Applications asks the author(s) to fill and sign the “Submission Declaration” document submitted on the journal website for each article sent to the journal and upload it to the system. The articles of the author(s) who do not send a signed undertaking document will not be taken into evaluation.

Similarity Report

Similarity report is mandatory for all articles evaluated for publication in International Journal of Innovative Engineering Applications as of 01.12.2020.

International Journal of Innovative Engineering Applications wants author(s) to check the entire text of each article sent to the journal except the references section with the "iThenticate®" program and upload the scanned article in this program to "Similarity Reports" field found in the "Article Metadata" tab in the system together with the similarity report. Also, it is requested that the similarity report rate be stated before the references section in the article.

The similarity rate determined by the Editorial Board is maximum 20% for research articles, 30% for review articles, and even within these limits, the similarity rate in a single source is at most 5%. Articles with similarity rates above the specified values will not be evaluated.



Publication process and policy 

Publication Interval: IJIEA is published twice a year, in June and December.

Publication Language: The publication languages of the journal are Turkish and English. Publications sent in Turkish must have an English title and abstract in addition to the Turkish title and abstract. As of January 1, 2023, only publications in English will be accepted to International Journal of Innovative Engineering Applications.

Peer Review Process and Paper Acceptance Conditions:

The articles to be sent to the journal should not have been published anywhere before and should not have been sent for publication. If this situation is detected, the article evaluation process is canceled.
In articles submitted to the journal, research and publication ethics should be followed and COPE's (Committee on Publication Ethics) International Standards for authors should be taken into account in the rules regarding “Publication Ethics”, “Research Ethics” and “Legal/Special Permission Documentation”.
The copyright transfer form should be uploaded to the system in studies that require ethics committee permission, and a statement stating that ethics committee permission is not required at the end of the article in studies that do not require ethics committee approval. Otherwise, the articles are not included in the evaluation process. Also at the end of the article; contribution rate statement of researchers, statement of conflict and, if any, statement of support and thanks should be included.
The contribution rate statement of the researchers, if any, support and thanks statement and conflict statement should be included in the article. The researcher contribution rate and conflict of interest declaration form must be signed and uploaded with the article file. Otherwise, the articles are not included in the evaluation process.
The similarity reports of the submitted articles must be obtained through the iThentincate plagiarism program. You can access detailed information on the subject under the heading of Writing Rules (https://dergipark.org.tr/tr/pub/ijiea/writing-rules).

Submitted articles should be prepared in accordance with the writing rules of our journal.
The evaluation process of the articles is carried out according to the blind peer-review system, in which the author(s) are not informed about the identities of the referees and the referees are not informed about the identities of the author(s).
Articles that comply with the editorial policy and spelling rules are sent to at least two reviewers to be evaluated using the blind reviewing system.
Within the framework of the reports from the reviewers, it is decided whether the article will be published or not. The publication of the articles depends on the decision of the editor, even if they have received a positive opinion by the reviewers.
In case corrections are requested by the reviewers, the corrections requested by the author(s) must be made. If requested, the corrections made are reviewed by the reviewers again.
IJIEA Journal has the right to publish, not publish and correct the submitted articles.
Copyright fee is not paid to the author(s) for the articles published in the IJIEA Journal.
IJIEA Journal follows an open access policy.
IJIEA Journal only accepts articles through the DergiPark system (https://dergipark.org.tr/tr/pub/ijiea).

Clause 1- As of January 1, 2023, only publications in English will be accepted to International Journal of Innovative Engineering Applications.
Clause 2- As of January 1, 2023, a fee of “50 €” will be charged for each article submission in order to cover publication expenses. This fee is requested after the article is checked for compliance with the scope of the journal, regardless of the acceptance or rejection condition.
The answer to the 44th question is clearly stated in the 2021 January Term Frequently Asked Questions and Answers section of the Higher Education Council's statement about the predatory journals.
“Journals that charge a fee or additional fee from the author for publication after the acceptance of the article (Predatory Journals) cannot be used in the terms of the associate professorship application (declaration) due to the conflict of interest in this relationship. However, it should be added to the CV and the list of works.
In this context, the following journals can be used for associate professorship application requirements (declaration):
• Journals that charge a fee during the article submission, regardless of the acceptance/rejection condition,
• Journals that charge a fee to make the relevant article open access, although it works on a subscription basis,
• Journals that do not charge any fee from the authors during the article printing process.”
