THE ROLE OF WORK LIFE QUALITY ON THE PERCEPTION OF ORGANIZATIONAL SUPPORT: AN EMPIRICAL RESEARCH ON FIVE STAR HOTEL COOKS
Abstract
The aim of this study is to determine the level of General Work Life Quality (GWLQ) and Perceived Organizational Support (POS) and to reveal the effects of General Work Life Quality on Perceived Organizational Support, along with its sub-dimensions. The data was obtained from a survey of the chefs working in the five-star hotel business in Istanbul in 2015. The relationship between the dependent and independent variables of the study was tested by Pearson correlation and the effect was tested by regression analysis. As a result of the research, the perceived organizational support, work life quality, business environment and provided services level of the cooks were found to be "high" and the working conditions level was "medium". A positive relationship was found between Work Life Quality and sub-dimensions and Perceived Organizational Support. In addition, Work Life Quality and sub-dimensions were found to be statistically significant explanatory of the change in perceived organizational support.
