POP SÜRREALİZM’İN KULLANDIĞI POPÜLER KÜLTÜR ÖĞELERİ

Abstract

Pop Sürrealizm (Lowbrow Sanat), 1970’larda Los Angeles'ın Batı Kıyısında ortaya çıkmış ve yirmi birinci yüzyılda yaygınlaşmıştır. Hot Rod (Kustom Kulture), Punk, çizgi roman, karikatür, grafiti, anime, psychedelic sanat gibi birçok kaynaktan beslenmektedir. Bu sanat hareketi, popüler kültür öğelerinin mizahi bir anlayışla gerçeküstü bir ortama taşındığı bir anlayışı ifade etmektedir. Bu ortam, pop görüntülerle dolu bir bilinçaltı derinliği ya da bir rüya sahnesine benzemektedir. Sanatçılar fizik kurallarını alt üst ederek, tarihten, reklamlardan veya filmlerden tanıdığı karakterleri tuhaf ve eğlenceli bir ortama taşımaktadır. Bu çalışmada, Pop Sürrealizm sanat hareketi tarafından yirmi birinci yüzyılda içerik haline getirilen popüler kültür öğelerinin incelenmesi amaçlanmaktadır. Pop Sürrealizm’in içeriğe dönüştürdüğü popüler kültür öğelerinin en önemlileri arasında; film ve çizgi filmler, televizyon dizileri, çizgi roman ve karikatürler, reklam görüntüleri ve retro grafikler, tanınmış kişi ve eserler, dijital oyunlar ve oyuncaklar bulunmaktadır. Pop Sürrealist sanatçıların farklı birçok güncel popüler kültür öğesinden ilham aldığı bu çalışmanın sonuçları arasındadır.
