My academic journey in Social Work began at Pondicherry University in 2009, where I have consistently pursued teaching, research, fieldwork, research guidance, and administration. My research interests are deeply rooted in real-world issues, informed by my field experiences and collaboration with diverse stakeholders. Over the years, I have developed a strong focus on aging populations, sustainable livelihoods, and innovative social work practices that empower communities and foster inclusive development. My work in gerontology addresses the complexities of aging in the Indian context, exploring the psychosocial, economic, and policy dimensions of elderly care. In parallel, my engagement in livelihood promotion and social entrepreneurship reflects a commitment to building self-reliant and resilient communities through capacity building and sustainable economic models. I have had the privilege of collaborating with several prestigious international and national agencies. At the national level, I have worked with key ministries, including the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, and the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), National Institute of Social Defence (NISD) offering my expertise in research, policy planning, and field implementation. Additionally, I have contributed to state-level initiatives in Puducherry, collaborating with the Directorate of Social Welfare and the District Rural Development Agency (DRDA). These partnerships have involved research, training and capacity building, impact assessment, and community-based interventions. In both academic and applied settings, I am committed to evidence-based practice, participatory research, and community engagement. I believe in the transformative potential of Social Work education and strive to mentor students and young professionals, helping them become socially responsible and ethically grounded change-makers. My academic pursuits are complemented by a strong publication record, training modules, and field manuals, all aimed at bridging the gap between theory and practice. I continue to seek opportunities that allow me to contribute to inclusive policy development, effective program implementation, and the advancement of social work as a dynamic and impactful profession. As I move forward, I remain dedicated to addressing emerging social issues, fostering innovation in the third sector, and collaborating with governmental and non-governmental agencies to build a more just, equitable, and compassionate society.
