Aim & Scope

Purpose

The International Journal of Cultural and Social Studies (IntJCSS) is an open-access, double-blind peer-reviewed journal that aims to contribute to national and international academic knowledge production by publishing high-quality, original, and scholarly academic works. Published online in June and December, IntJCSS is committed to making scientific knowledge available to a wider audience free of charge and in a sustainable manner. The journal accepts only previously unpublished and unsubmitted works in accordance with scientific ethical principles and evaluates each submission using a blind review method by at least two subject experts. Taking into account the results of the peer reviews, the suitability of each work is discussed by the IntJCSS Editorial Board, and the final decision is made by the editor(s). IntJCSS, which does not accept referee recommendations, requires those who wish to contribute to the evaluation process to apply for refereeing through the Dergipark system. Articles prepared in Turkish and English are published in the journal; English abstracts are mandatory for Turkish full-text studies, while Turkish abstracts are optional for English full-text studies.

Scope

In line with its updated publication policy, IntJCSS aims to prioritise culture-focused academic work. Within this framework, the journal will place emphasis on research addressing cultural phenomena, social dynamics and the transformation of social structures. In addition, work positioned around culture and intersecting with communication sciences also occupies an important place within the scope of the journal. The journal supports original research articles, qualitative and quantitative studies, compilation studies, case presentations, letters to the editor, and original scientific evaluations that contribute to the field. Research examining the relationship between culture and communication with an interdisciplinary approach, particularly cultural studies, is especially encouraged by the journal. IntJCSS's target audience includes academics, researchers, postgraduate students, and all scientific circles interested in the social sciences and communication. The International Journal of Cultural and Social Studies (IntJCSS) adheres to the international scientific ethical principles and standards established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) at all stages of the publication process and undertakes to act accordingly.
