Research Article

“Journal of Anatolian Geography” believes that geography is an interdisciplinary field recognized as a universal science. Geography is a science with a long history of understanding the complexity of societies, cultures, natural processes, and settlements and explaining the interactions between these elements. In this framework, the objectives of our journal are as follows:
Definition of Geography: Geography is a multifaceted science that examines issues such as the characteristics of the earth, the organization of settlements, natural processes, climate, soil, and sustainable development. Geographical studies aim to understand the complex interactions between physical and human elements, to document settlements around the world through mapping techniques, and to contribute to the accumulation of knowledge on various issues at regional, national, and global scales.
Aims of the Journal: “Journal of Anatolian Geography,” based on this comprehensive definition of geography, aims to investigate the geographical processes taking place in various areas around the world, especially in Anatolian geography, and the effects of these processes on people and the environment. Adopting a multidisciplinary approach, the journal brings together researchers from physical geography, human geography, cartography, environmental sciences, and other related disciplines. Our aim is to publish original research covering a wide range of geographical sciences and articles from various perspectives, thus contributing to geographical knowledge and creating a scientific dialog at the regional and global level.

The scope of the journal includes, but is not limited to, the following topics:
1. Physical Geography: Research focusing on physical geography topics such as climate, topography, geomorphology, hydrology, and vegetation.
2. Human Geography: Studies on population, settlement, culture, tourism, economy, and social geography.
3. Cartography and Geographic Information Systems (GIS): Research on topics such as map design, geostatistical analysis, and GIS applications.
4. Remote Sensing (RLS): Research on remote sensing techniques, satellite image analysis, remote sensing applications, and geo-information systems integration.
5. Environmental Sciences: Studies focusing on environmental sciences such as natural resources, environmental degradation, sustainability, and disaster in Anatolia.
6. Cultural Heritage and Historical Geography: Topics including Anatolia's cultural heritage, historical geography, and archaeological research.
7. Transportation and Infrastructure: Research on Anatolia's transportation infrastructure, urban planning, and urban development.
The journal aims to evaluate contributions including original research, reviews, and methodology-oriented articles in these areas. “Journal of Anatolian Geography” focuses on bringing together researchers from various disciplines in the field of geography and contributing to the accumulation of geographical knowledge on a regional and global scale.
