Journal of Diplomatic Research (JDR) is an international peer-reviewed academic journal published electronically on a biannual basis by the Association for Research on Diplomacy (DARD). Concordantly, JDR is open to all original studies on international relations, political science as well as theoretical, historical and methodological studies on diplomacy.
The Journal of Diplomatic Research is open to all original studies related to the field of diplomacy, particularly international relations and political science, including conceptual, theoretical, historical, and methodological works. The journal is an international platform where scholars examining the phenomenon of diplomacy from all perspectives within a comprehensive framework come together.
Main Areas of Study:
The Journal of Diplomatic Research is open to contributions from different fields of social sciences such as history, political science, international relations, law, economics, geography, anthropology, psychology, and methodology. Studies prepared jointly by scholars from different disciplines are especially encouraged.
The Journal of Diplomatic Research accepts five types of publications:
Original Research Article: Scientific research that explains an original idea, event, or behavior with an appropriate methodology and theoretical perspective. Primary data use and appropriate methodology application are priorities.
Review Article: Studies that provide comprehensive literature review and evaluation on a specific topic, reach a wide readership, and create infrastructure for future research.
Case Study: Studies that include comparative analysis of one or more cases, offer different perspectives, and make theoretical contributions.
Methodological Study: Studies prepared for the purpose of testing methods from different disciplines in diplomatic research.
Book Review: Studies containing critical evaluations of books that contribute to the field literature.
