THE POWER DYNAMICS IN MANAGEMENT THEORIES: A FRAMEWORK FOR DETERMINING SUSTINABILITY GOALS IN CORPORATE COMMUNICATION

Abstract

This study presents a comprehensive literature review of governance theories, including Institutional Theory, Agency Theory, Stewardship Theory, Strategic Leadership Theory, Stakeholder Theory, Contingency Theory, Resource Dependence Theory, Short-Term Market Theory, and Transaction Cost Theory. It aims to develop a theoretical framework to identify key drivers for adopting sustainability goals in organizations. Research questions address how Foucault’s concept of power manifests in organizational philosophy, the tools and mechanisms that reveal power relations in governance, and how governance approaches shape behavior. The study’s original contribution lies in identifying managerial priorities influencing sustainability-driven corporate communication strategies.
